In a significant announcement that underscores Ayodhya's growing prominence on the global stage, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has revealed that around 100 chartered planes are expected to land at Ayodhya airport on January 22. This event is not just a spiritual landmark but also a crucial test for the recently inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya. Opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, the airport's capability to handle such a high volume of air traffic will be put to the test. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi for providing Uttar Pradesh with its fourth international airport, a development that holds great significance for the state.

The Chief Minister's announcement came during the virtual inauguration of Indigo's new flight service connecting Ayodhya and Ahmedabad. This inaugural event saw the participation of Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister VK Singh, and other senior officials. With the launch of this tri-weekly service, Ayodhya is now directly connected to Ahmedabad, making it the second city after Delhi to have direct flight services to Ayodhya.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also highlighted that Ayodhya's air connectivity is set to expand further. Starting January 15, flight services to Mumbai will commence, making it the third destination directly connected to Ayodhya. Additionally, another flight service to Delhi is slated to begin from January 16, 2024. These developments are seen as a major boost to tourism and business activities in the region.
