Mumbai-born craft beer and hospitality brand Berlin Brew Taproom is expanding its footprint with the opening of a new outlet at Kamala Mills this month, strengthening its presence across the city's dining and social landscape.
The new taproom marks another step in Berlin Brew's evolution into a scalable, multi-outlet hospitality business, with the brand working towards a long-term ambition of approximately 20 outlets.
Inspired by Berlin's beer culture but shaped by Mumbai's energy, Berlin Brew brings together small-batch craft beers, approachable food and social spaces designed around connection. Rather than replicate a traditional German beer hall, the brand interprets European brewing styles through Indian ingredients, flavours and hospitality.
At the heart of the experience is a rotating craft beer programme, with fresh batches brewed regularly across a range of styles. The selection includes Belgian Wit, Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, IPA and Crème Noir Milk Stout.
The brewery also experiments with flavour-led offerings such as Alphonso Mead, Guava Cider, Coffee Orange Cider and gin and tonic-inspired pours. Indian ingredients including jowar, Alphonso mango and Gondhoraj lime bring a local dimension to the brewing programme while keeping the underlying beer styles central to the experience.
For guests looking to explore different styles, the Beer Tree offers six 150 ml pours as a tasting flight, allowing both first-time drinkers and seasoned craft beer enthusiasts to sample the range.
The food menu is designed to complement the beer-led experience, with dishes suited to sharing and socialising. German-inspired favourites such as bratwurst sausages, chicken schnitzel and pretzels are paired with Indian-influenced preparations, reflecting Berlin Brew's Mumbai-inspired approach to food.
Pairings also form an important part of the experience, with combinations such as Crème Noir Milk Stout with warm pretzels bringing together the flavours of the kitchen and taproom.
Across its existing locations, Berlin Brew has developed distinct formats suited to different neighbourhoods. The Times Square outlet in Saki Naka offers a lively after-work setting, while the Beer Garden off Veera Desai Road focuses on an open-air experience. The Beer Library adds another dimension through its book-lined setting.
The upcoming Kamala Mills outlet will extend Berlin Brew's presence into one of Mumbai's established dining and social destinations.
As the brand expands, Berlin Brew is focusing on building systems that support consistency across locations. Recipe standardisation, staff training, procurement, beer quality controls and outlet-level accountability form part of its approach to creating a repeatable hospitality model.
"Growth only matters if the guest experience survives it. Before we add more locations, we are strengthening recipes, training, procurement, quality checks and outlet-level accountability. Our long-term ambition is to build Berlin Brew towards 20 outlets, but we want each new opening to feel considered rather than copied," said Mr. Aniket Patil, Founder, Berlin Brew.
With Kamala Mills joining its growing Mumbai presence, Berlin Brew continues to build a hospitality platform centred on craft beer discovery, neighbourhood-specific experiences and a consistent approach to quality and value.
Berlin Brew Taproom is a Mumbai-based craft beer and hospitality brand inspired by Berlin's beer culture and interpreted through Mumbai's diverse flavours, energy and social spirit. The brand combines a rotating craft beer programme, approachable food and distinctive taproom experiences across its locations, with a long-term vision to build towards approximately 20 outlets.
