&Beyond’s Suyian Lodge Set to Redefine Luxury in Laikipia

&Beyond, renowned for its luxury experiential and conservation endeavors, has unveiled plans for its latest venture: the &Beyond Suyian Lodge in Kenya's Laikipia region. This exciting expansion comes as a result of a partnership with global conservation charity Space for Giants, marking a significant step towards sustainable tourism and wildlife preservation.

Situated within the sprawling 44,000-acre Suyian Conservancy, the lodge promises an exclusive experience amidst the pristine wilderness of north-western Laikipia. With the aim of becoming the premier luxury destination in Kenya, &Beyond plans to develop top-tier accommodations, including lodges, tented camps, sky beds, and mobile camping facilities, all while maintaining a focus on conservation and community empowerment.

Joss Kent, CEO and Executive Chairman of &Beyond, said “Our expansion into Laikipia is the culmination of a long-held desire to increase our impact and lodge operating footprint in Kenya. Laikipia is a prime wilderness area that is home to a greater population of wildlife than anywhere else in Kenya outside of the Masai Mara. This includes a large number of globally threatened mammals that make it particularly important from a conservation perspective. Representing a critical piece of the Kenyan circuit, it not only offers a world-class game experience but also aligns with many of our ambitious impact objectives in terms of securing and protecting endangered wildlife and habitat ecosystems, as well as enabling conservation through empowered communities.”

Space for Giants' founder, Dr. Max Graham, said “If Laikipia is the heart of the organisation, Suyian is its soul. Last year, through the generosity of the former owners of Suyian and a transformational gift by American philanthropist Louis Bacon, we were able to support the transition of ownership of the 44 000 acres to the Suyian Conservancy Trust, a Kenyan not-for-profit. This will ensure Suyian and its wildlife are protected in perpetuity for the benefit of Kenyans and, indeed, the world.”

The lodge itself will offer 14 suites, each meticulously designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment. Guests can expect luxurious amenities, breathtaking views, and unparalleled access to the region's diverse wildlife, including rare species like the black leopard and African wild dog.

Beyond its wildlife offerings, Suyian presents opportunities for cultural immersion, with interactions with local tribes and participation in conservation activities. Additionally, the lodge serves as a gateway to remote adventures, including helicopter safaris and visits to iconic natural landmarks.

“In &Beyond we have a company that shares our values and has the capacity to ensure this magical natural ecosystem is not only protected but thrives,” concludes Dr Graham. “We could not have dreamed of a better partnership as a start to Suyian’s exciting journey.”

With its opening slated for July 1, 2025, &Beyond Suyian Lodge represents a new frontier in luxury travel, where conservation, community, and unparalleled experiences converge. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting venture as &Beyond continues its mission to leave the world a better place through extraordinary travel experiences.
