Blue Moon Minty Jamun from House of NV Group has won a Gold medal at The Vodka Masters 2026 in London, organised as part of The Spirits Business' Global Spirits Masters Competitions. The expression was recognised in the Flavoured/Infused Vodka category following a blind tasting of international vodka entries.
The recognition highlights an Indian-inspired flavour combination, bringing together the tart fruitiness of jamun and the cooling character of mint. Blue Moon Minty Jamun presents this familiar Indian pairing in a contemporary vodka, giving NV Group an international accolade for an expression built around local flavours.
Established by The Spirits Business in 2008, the Global Spirits Masters Competitions includes specialist competitions such as The Vodka Masters. Entries are assessed through blind tastings by independent specialist judges and awarded Silver, Gold or Master medals based on their merits.
The 2026 judging panels included Melita Kiely, Editor-in-Chief of The Spirits Business and Chair of the Global Spirits Masters Competitions; spirits writer and consultant David T Smith; drinks consultant and India market specialist Ruchira Neotia; spirits buyer Bryan Rodriguez-Curtis; bartender and spirits professional Luciano Marino of The Savoy, London; and drinks educators and consultants Marie Cheong-Thong and Matt Chambers.
Commenting on the recognition, Varun Jain, CEO & Founder, Smoke Lab, NV Group, said, “The value of this recognition lies in the fact that the product was judged blind, without the context of the brand or the story behind it. Minty Jamun was conceived around a flavour that is unmistakably Indian, but our intent was never to make that the novelty. The challenge was to create a vodka where the flavour itself had enough definition and balance to stand on its own. A Gold at The Vodka Masters gives us a useful external measure of how that proposition is being received by experienced spirits professionals.”
Blue Moon Minty Jamun is a rice-based flavoured vodka that is triple distilled and bottled at 37.5% ABV. Launched in India in 2026, it forms part of NV Group's growing portfolio of contemporary spirits.
The Gold medal adds to the growing conversation around Indian spirits taking local flavours and drinking culture to international platforms while competing against global benchmarks.
