In the heart of Mumbai, The Taj Mahal Palace stands tall and proud, marking its 120th year as a symbol of legendary hospitality. Established in 1903 by Jamsetji Tata, the iconic Taj brand has not only shaped India's hospitality landscape but has also become a global icon of luxury and service.
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), said “Founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1903 and nurtured by the visionary leaders of the Tata Group, Taj, continues to be a legendary symbol of timeless hospitality. From pioneering landmark tourism destinations of Rajasthan, Goa, Kerala, Andamans and North-East to opening doors to India’s living grand Palaces, Taj, rated as India’s Strongest Brand 2023 by Brand Finance, is an icon that is both loved and sought after.”
Ritesh Sharma, General Manager of The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, said, “Over more than a century, The Taj’, as it is fondly called, has woven itself into the cultural fabric of Mumbai. Its regal architecture, world-class amenities, and unwavering commitment to service has created an indelible mark in the hearts of our esteemed guests. We remain committed to offering the quintessential Taj service with genuine warmth, and care in the years ahead.”
Commencing a series of celebratory events, a Light & Sound Show on December 16th and a Black-Tie Charity Ball on December 17th will showcase the hotel's bygone era. Aligning with the TATA legacy, these events will raise funds for IHCL's CSR initiatives and Taj Public Service Welfare Trust.
As Taj Mahal Palace embraces 120 years, it remains an enduring symbol of India's rich history, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity. Through its unwavering commitment to service, it continues to leave an indelible mark on the hearts of guests, embodying the essence of quintessential Taj hospitality.
