Chalet Hotels Limited (CHL) has announced the appointment of Shwetank Singh as Executive Director, marking a significant step in the company’s leadership. Singh’s induction into the Board of Directors is effective immediately, pending approval by shareholders for a term of three years, following the recommendation of the Compensation, Nomination, and Remuneration Committee.

In his enhanced role, Singh will continue to lead the projects, design, and business development functions. He will also take charge of operations and asset management teams while overseeing CHL’s Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives—integral to the company’s sustainable growth strategy.

Sanjay Sethi, Managing Director & CEO of Chalet Hotels Limited, expressed confidence in Singh’s abilities, stating, “In line with our endeavor to groom and grow our internal talent, Shwetank has been inducted into the board of Chalet Hotels Limited and given additional responsibilities of operations and our ESG initiatives. Singh is an alumnus of the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), holding an MBA in finance and marketing. He has previously held key leadership positions at several globally recognized organizations, bringing a wealth of experience to his new role at CHL.

Chalet Hotels Limited, part of K Raheja Corp, is a prominent player in the hospitality sector, owning, developing, and managing high-end hotels and resorts across India. The company currently operates 10 hotels and resorts, totaling 3,052 keys under renowned brands such as JW Marriott, The Westin, and Novotel. Additionally, Chalet Hotels is expanding its commercial real estate portfolio, increasing from 2.4 million square feet to 3.3 million square feet, with approximately 1,100 rooms under development.

John, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, brings a wealth of knowledge in driving sales strategies and fostering market growth. His impressive career spans renowned brands such as Marriott International, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, and IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Welcoming him to the leadership team, Narayan Tharoor, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Kochi Airport and Port Muziris, stated, "With his proven expertise and vision, we are confident in Jom's ability to expand our market reach and achieve new milestones. These experiences have equipped Khizer with a deep understanding of hotel operations and guest service, preparing him to drive operational success in his new position.

During his career, he has held numerous leadership positions, including front of house and operations roles. Outside his professional life, Khizer is also known for his passion for adventure motorcycling, often setting out to explore new landscapes.

Minor Hotels, a global leader in hospitality, has appointed Omar Romero as Chief Development and Luxury Officer, a newly established role aimed at advancing the company’s international growth. Based in Bangkok, Romero will report to CEO Dillip Rajakarier and work closely with the senior leadership team.

In his new position, Romero will guide the global development strategy, seek new business opportunities, oversee project planning and execution, and manage key partnerships. He will also be influential in shaping the company’s luxury brand portfolio to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Romero joins Minor Hotels with over 20 years of industry expertise. Before this, he served as Chief Development Officer at Six Senses, where he led the global development team and facilitated over 50 hotel management agreements and several branded residence projects. His experience and knowledge are expected to bolster Minor Hotels’ global presence and luxury offerings.
