Anya Gurgaon, located on Golf Course Road, has appointed Chitra Awasthi as its new General Manager. With more than 25 years of experience across leading hospitality brands in India and internationally, Awasthi brings extensive experience in revenue growth, brand positioning and stakeholder management to her new role.
Awasthi has worked with leading names including Marriott International, Hyatt, The Oberoi Group, Taj Hotels and Radisson. Her career has covered senior leadership roles across sales, marketing, food & beverage and revenue management. Most recently, she held a senior leadership role at Radisson Hotel, Delhi MG Road, where she was involved in hotel operations along with sales, marketing and revenue management.
Earlier, Awasthi served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Grand Hyatt Gurgaon and held similar leadership positions at Le Méridien Jaipur, JW Marriott Mussoorie and Le Méridien Gurugram under the Marriott International portfolio.
She also spent more than six years with The Oberoi Group across Trident and The Oberoi, Gurgaon, progressing from Banquet Sales Manager to Regional Sales Manager. Her early career included roles at Le Méridien New Delhi, The Taj Mahal Hotel New Delhi, Moevenpick Hotel Dubai and Hotel Hans Plaza New Delhi.
Over the years, Awasthi has received several recognitions, including the "Spirit to Serve" award from Marriott International, special recognition for outstanding RevPAR performance during the pandemic and the Inspirational Woman Leader award at the ET Women's Conclave. She holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Meerut, along with a Bachelor's degree in Arts from the University of Delhi.
At Anya Gurgaon, Awasthi will lead the overall operations of the property, with a focus on strengthening rooms and F&B revenue, improving guest experience and further building the hotel's position in the competitive Gurgaon hospitality market.
Speaking on her appointment, Awasthi said, "I'm looking forward to unlocking what this location truly deserves, elevating the guest experience, driving F&B and banqueting to match the address, and building on the strong foundations already in place. I'm grateful to the hotel's promoters for this opportunity."
