Pondicherry’s iconic White Town has welcomed a new gem - Ciclo Café, a vibrant space that seamlessly blends food, heritage, and active living. This marks the brand’s expansion to its fifth outlet, bringing its signature experience to the heart of this culturally rich city.
Housed in ‘The House of Upasana,’ a historic French colonial residence famously featured as Pi’s childhood home in the movie Life of Pi, the café exudes old-world charm with a contemporary twist. Spread across 7,000 square feet, the new outlet offers a spacious yet cozy setting with 80 covers, perfect for everything from casual coffee meet-ups to elegant fine dining. With its stunning ambience and commitment to mindful living, it is poised to become a must-visit destination for both residents and travelers.
Ciclo Café has already carved a niche in the culinary world with its delectable food offerings and its unique concept of merging active living with delicious, wholesome meals. The Pondicherry outlet takes this experience a step further by introducing the brand’s first-ever bed-and-breakfast within a restored 100-year-old heritage home. This fusion of an elegant dining space and a boutique stay reflects the city’s European influence while promoting a lifestyle centered on food, culture, and wellness.
Beyond just a place to dine, Ciclo Café aims to create an inclusive space that caters to every mood—whether it’s a quiet coffee break, a lively group gathering, or a fine-dining affair. The café’s 80-seater space is designed to embrace the essence of White Town, with its blend of colonial architecture, modern aesthetics, and a charming outdoor view that invites relaxation.
“Since our first outlet in Chennai, Ciclo Café has always been about uniting an active lifestyle with great food. With our new Pondicherry venture, we’re taking this passion a step further by creating a space where people can enjoy not just exceptional cuisine, but also a thoughtfully designed bed-and-breakfast experience in a historic 100-year-old French colonial home,” shared the team behind Ciclo Café.
With its latest addition in Pondicherry, Ciclo Café continues to grow, catering to food lovers, cyclists, and travelers alike. Whether one seeks a cozy corner for a solo retreat, an intimate setting for coffee, or a communal space for friends and family, this café aims to offer the perfect blend of comfort, culture, and culinary excellence.

BarNaan Brookfield has unveiled its new signature menu curated by Gurneet Singh, bringing together authentic Indian flavours, contemporary presentation, and globally inspired elements.
The newly launched menu celebrates the depth and diversity of Indian cuisine through a carefully curated selection of tandoori dishes, classic curries, comforting homestyle preparations, and aromatic biryanis, designed to appeal to both traditional diners and modern global palates.
One of the standout highlights of the menu is the Tandoori Salmon, where salmon fillets are marinated with yogurt, lime, and house-ground spices before being cooked in the tandoor, offering a refined seafood interpretation of traditional Indian grilling techniques. The popular Tandoori Chicken also remains a key feature, prepared with cream, herbs, and spices before being charred to perfection.
The “Classics” section of the menu pays tribute to iconic Indian dishes with preparations such as Tikka Masala, Korma, Saag, Rogan Josh, Madras, Vindaloo, Jalfrezi, and traditional Curry, each crafted using balanced spice blends and authentic cooking methods.
Chef Gurneet Singh has also introduced a range of house specialties that blend comfort with indulgence. Signature dishes include the much-loved Butter Chicken served in a rich tomato-butter gravy, Loaded Tikka Fries topped with paneer or chicken, mozzarella cheese, and tikka masala sauce, along with the flavourful Paneer Butter Masala prepared using house spice blends and tandoor cooking techniques.
Adding a nostalgic touch to the dining experience, the “Mom’s Specials” section features comforting dishes inspired by Indian home kitchens, including Malai Kofta, Chana Masala, Daal Tadka, and Aloo Gobi, celebrating traditional regional cooking styles and familiar flavours.
The biryani selection forms another major highlight of the menu, featuring Vegetable Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Biryani, Shrimp Biryani, and the indulgent House Biryani layered with chicken, lamb, shrimp, fragrant basmati rice, herbs, and aromatic spices.
Speaking about the launch, Chef Gurneet Singh shared, “This menu reflects our vision of presenting Indian cuisine in a way that feels both authentic and contemporary. We wanted to preserve the soul of traditional Indian cooking while introducing creative elements and elevated flavours that resonate with today’s diners.”
With its refreshed culinary direction, BarNaan Brookfield continues to strengthen its position as a destination for modern Indian dining, combining tradition, innovation, and warm hospitality in a contemporary setting
