Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Mahesh Shetty as Director of Sales and Avani Dedhia as Marketing Communications Manager. The appointments are part of the hotel’s focus on strengthening sales, marketing and brand-building efforts in Mumbai’s airport district.

Mahesh Shetty brings close to two decades of hospitality sales experience to his new role. He most recently served as Associate Director of Sales at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, where he led proactive sales across transient and MICE segments. During his tenure, he received the President's Circle Award for two consecutive years and drove 100% growth in room night revenue, while also bringing in incremental business from production houses.

His career includes roles at Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach and Waterstones Hotel, with experience across MICE, corporate and banquet revenue. At Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport, he will focus on room and banquet revenues while strengthening the hotel’s presence across new and existing corporate accounts.

Avani Dedhia joins the hotel with over 17 years of experience across marketing, communications and public relations in the luxury and lifestyle space. She most recently served as Director of Marketing at ICONIQA Hotel and previously worked as Marketing & Communications Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai from its pre-opening phase.

Her career also includes leadership roles at Absolute Hotel Services India, Tropicana Resort & Spa Alibaug and Time Out Mumbai Magazine. Her experience across print media and publishing also saw her work with well-known authors, while her interest in the F&B landscape led her into hospitality.

In her new role, Avani will oversee marketing, communications and brand positioning, while working closely with the sales, F&B and culinary teams to strengthen the property’s visibility across its key markets. Having previously been part of Marriott International, the appointment also marks her return to the brand in a new location.
