Courtyard by Marriott Shillong has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Linu K as Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Shafique Ahmed as Executive Sous Chef, and Ningombam Khelbas Meetei as Assistant Training Manager. Linu K, the new Assistant Executive Housekeeper, brings over 13 years of extensive experience in hospitality. His background includes roles with prominent brands such as Evolve Back Resorts, Four Points by Sheraton, and Grand Hyatt Mumbai. At Courtyard by Marriott Shillong, Linu will oversee the housekeeping department, focusing on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, attention to detail, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Shafique Ahmed steps in as Executive Sous Chef with a wealth of experience spanning 14 years. Having worked with renowned global brands such as Accor, Hyatt, Hilton, and Marriott, Ahmed’s culinary expertise will drive innovation in the hotel’s dining operations. He will manage the award-winning restaurants, banquet kitchens, and in-room dining services, ensuring that Courtyard by Marriott Shillong continues to deliver unforgettable gastronomic experiences.

Completing the trio of appointments is Ningombam Khelbas Meetei, the hotel’s new Assistant Training Manager. With 12 years of diverse experience in the hospitality industry, including roles as Duty Manager and Hospitality Trainer, Khelbas will be instrumental in shaping the growth and development of the hotel’s staff. His focus will be on enhancing the work culture and driving operational excellence through strategic training initiatives.

Kochi Marriott Hotel has announced the appointment of Yogendra Indulkar as its new Director of Operations, reinforcing the hotel’s leadership team with seasoned operational expertise and a strong guest-centric approach.

With over 20 years of experience in hotel operations, Yogendra brings a well-rounded understanding of luxury and upper-upscale hospitality. His career spans senior leadership roles across renowned brands including Marriott International, Hyatt Hotels, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, and Ecotel Hotels, where he has managed large inventory hotels and complex, multi-outlet operations.

Known for delivering consistent operational and financial performance, Yogendra combines commercial acumen with a hands-on leadership style. A graduate in Hospitality Management and Catering Operations, he is recognised for his collaborative approach, strong interpersonal skills, and focus on continuous improvement across teams and processes.

Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati has announced the appointment of Samata Danday Chand as its Hotel Manager, bringing on board an experienced hospitality leader as the property gears up for its much-anticipated opening. The hotel is yet to open and is expected to welcome guests by April.

With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Samata brings deep operational knowledge and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. Her leadership approach is rooted in service excellence, team empowerment, and building high-performance cultures that deliver consistent results.

She began her career with IHCL – Taj Group of Hotels, where she spent nearly a decade as Executive Housekeeper. During this phase, she successfully led several pre-opening projects and renovation initiatives, gaining strong exposure to large-scale hotel operations. She later moved into Learning & Development roles, contributing to the strengthening of talent development and training frameworks.

Samata’s career progression saw her take on senior operational roles, including Operations Manager and Director of Rooms, where she oversaw end-to-end hotel operations and played a key role in driving efficiency and service standards across departments.

Most recently, she was associated with JW Marriott Bengaluru Golfshire as Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms. In this role, she was instrumental in enhancing luxury guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence in a highly competitive environment.

Outside of her professional role, Samata is a keen traveller, an avid long-distance driver, and a dedicated yoga practitioner. She will be accompanied by her husband Kartik and their children, Akshat and Samaira, as she takes on this new assignment.

Her appointment comes at a crucial phase for Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati, as the hotel prepares for its opening and sets the foundation for strong operational performance under experienced leadership.
