Crimson Hotels Private Limited, known for its luxury and boutique hotels, is expanding its footprint into the Kingdom of Bhutan with the launch of two new properties: “Econostay Lhaki Yangchak Residency” in Thimphu and Paro. This move brings Crimson's total number of operational hotels to eight, spanning three countries: Bhutan, India, and Nepal.
The new hotels mark Crimson's fourth international venture, offering travelers both comfort and convenience in Bhutan’s serene landscapes. The Econostay Lhaki Yangchak Residency in Thimphu features 35 elegantly designed rooms and suites, a multi-cuisine restaurant, and state-of-the-art meeting and banquet facilities. Guests can also enjoy a wellness center, a recreation room, and breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.
In Paro, the Econostay Lhaki Yangchak Residency, located near Paro International Airport, offers 18 cozy rooms and suites, each with touches of traditional Bhutanese architecture. The property includes a restaurant serving local and international cuisine, meeting and banquet spaces for up to 150 people, and a fitness center.
Both properties are strategically located to provide guests easy access to key attractions. Thimphu, the capital city, is known for its vibrant culture and historical landmarks, while Paro is celebrated for its natural beauty and the iconic Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery).
Sandeep Maitraya, Director of Crimson Hotels, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Bhutan represents a significant opportunity for Crimson Hotels to tap into a market that values cultural richness and natural beauty. Our new Econostay properties in Thimpu and Paro will cater to the growing demand for high-quality accommodations in Bhutan, offering travellers unique and memorable experiences. This expansion underscores our commitment to providing exceptional hospitality services in diverse markets while promoting sustainable tourism.”
This strategic move enhances Crimson Hotels’ portfolio, which already includes notable properties like Sukoon – A Wellness Resort in Dakpathar, Spice Hotel in Selaqui, Kenilworth in Mussoorie, Nangal Resort in Shekhawati, and The Earth Resort & Spa at Ranthambore. Additionally, the company has 20 more hotels under construction, with plans to open eight new properties in India, Nepal, and Bhutan over the next two years, four of which will be five-star hotels.
Crimson Hotels’ diverse brand offerings include Basics Inn & Suites for economy stays, Econostay for mid-market hotels, Citron for five-star accommodations, and the Akatsukii Collection for five-star deluxe luxury.
