Dusit Thani Kyoto, a luxury urban oasis by Dusit International, has received the prestigious Four-Star rating in Forbes Travel Guide’s 2025 Star Awards. This honor comes just after the hotel was recognized with a One Michelin Key, further solidifying its place among Kyoto's finest hotels.
Forbes Travel Guide, founded in the U.S. in 1958, is globally recognized for its authoritative luxury hotel rating system. The Four-Star rating is awarded to hotels that demonstrate exceptional service and top-tier facilities. To earn this rating, Dusit Thani Kyoto underwent rigorous, undercover assessments by Forbes inspectors, who paid for their own stays to ensure impartiality and evaluated the hotel based on more than 900 objective standards.
Opened in September 2023, Dusit Thani Kyoto is situated in the tranquil Hongwanji Monzen-machi district, just a short distance from Kyoto Station. The hotel combines Dusit’s signature Thai-inspired hospitality with Japan’s tradition of omotenashi, creating a seamless fusion of two rich cultures. With 147 meticulously designed guest rooms, the hotel offers an elegant and comfortable escape that blends timeless beauty with modern luxury.
In addition to its exceptional rooms, Dusit Thani Kyoto offers gourmet dining experiences at its three restaurants. Guests can explore Kyoto’s seasonal flavors at Kōyō, experience Thai-inspired mixology at Den Kyoto, and enjoy the finest Thai cuisine at Ayatana. The hotel is also committed to sustainability, sourcing local ingredients from the Kansai region, including organic produce from the hotel's own tea farm in Wazuka.
The hotel also boasts versatile event spaces that can accommodate up to 240 guests, as well as the signature Devarana Wellness center. Here, expert therapists blend Thai and Japanese healing traditions for an unparalleled rejuvenating experience.
"Receiving the Four-Star Award from Forbes Travel Guide is a tremendous achievement for us, and we are truly honored," said Makoto Yamashita, Cluster General Manager of Dusit Thani Kyoto and ASAI Kyoto Shijo. "This recognition, coupled with our Michelin Key status, reflects our unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional service, heartfelt hospitality, and memorable experiences for all our guests."
Dusit Thani Kyoto continues to raise the bar for luxury hospitality, offering a tranquil sanctuary in Kyoto with a unique fusion of Thai and Japanese culture.
