ITC Hotels is expanding its luxury portfolio with a new 140-room property in Patna, in collaboration with Kumar Infra Hotel Private Limited (KIHPL). The hotel, set on a 1.5-acre site, is expected to raise the bar for luxury accommodation and dining in Bihar and the surrounding region.
The project was awarded to KIHPL through a competitive government bid under Bihar’s tourism development initiatives, with ITC Hotels finalised as the operator. The property will offer world-class amenities, meeting facilities, and curated experiences that reflect the cultural and heritage ethos of the region.
Speaking on the announcement, Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels, said, "It shall be a privilege to showcase our iconic culinary and service excellence in Bihar through this ITC Luxury Hotel. Our luxury properties epitomize the culture and ethos of each destination offering indigenous experiences while celebrating the rich heritage of the region through distinctive architecture, arts, crafts & rituals."
Manish Kumar, Director of KIHPL, added, "We are excited and honoured to have entered into management agreements with ITC Hotels for a new luxury hotel in Patna. It is a matter of pride for us to develop this project with the vision of Bihar Government to strengthen the commercial and cultural identity of Patna. The Leela Palace Jaipur has transformed its iconic restaurant, Mohan Mahal, into Jamavar, its signature Indian fine-dining concept. This marks a new chapter in the city’s culinary scene, blending culture, craftsmanship, and True Indian Luxury.
Jamavar, already celebrated at The Leela Palace New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, now arrives in Jaipur, bringing a refined approach to royal Indian gastronomy. The restaurant’s name is inspired by the sixteenth-century Jamavar shawls of Kashmir, symbolizing elegance and intricate artistry, a philosophy reflected in both the design and cuisine.
While retaining the architectural splendor of Mohan Mahal, including 3,50,000 hand-cut Thikri mirrors and 18-carat gold-leaf work, Jamavar introduces a refreshed identity combining heritage with contemporary finesse. Guests can enjoy live instrumental performances each evening, evoking the grandeur of Rajasthan’s royal courts.
The menu highlights signature dishes like Gucchi Mutter Masala, Kofta-e-Jamavar, Dal-e-Jamavar, and Gosht ki Galouti, alongside Rajasthani specialties. Ingredients are locally sourced, and each dish is crafted with artistry, inspired by Parchinkari, the Mughal inlay craft known for meticulous detail.
Guests are welcomed with a symbolic handwash ritual, drawing from 16th-century royal dining traditions, setting a respectful and ceremonial tone for the meal. Further enhancing the experience, Jamavar Jaipur is led by an all-women service team, reflecting The Leela’s commitment to gracious hospitality and gender diversity. A narrative-driven beverage program complements the cuisine with heritage recipes, mixology, fine wines, cocktails, and spirits.
