The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) is gearing up for significant participation in leading travel trade shows in India. The ambitious objective is crystal clear: to extend a warm welcome to 200,000 travelers from India in 2024, building on the commendable success of hosting 120,000 visitors in the preceding year.
Myong Kil Yun, the Regional Director of India & SAARC Countries at KTO, underscored the strategic significance of India in Korea's tourism landscape. The vibrant cultural exchange, coupled with the palpable enthusiasm of Indian travelers for K-pop, K-drama, and K-beauty, highlights the tremendous potential perceived by KTO in the Indian travel market.
To realize this ambitious target, KTO has outlined a comprehensive strategy for 2024. This includes engaging in joint marketing promotions, organizing FAM (familiarization) trips, leveraging digital marketing channels, conducting multi-city roadshows, and actively participating in key industry events. These initiatives are carefully designed to showcase Korea's rich tapestry of offerings to the discerning Indian tourists, providing them with a nuanced glimpse into the country's diverse attractions.
The presence of KTO will be highly visible at prominent travel trade shows, notably at Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai from February 8-10, 2024, and the 31st edition of South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) from February 22-24, 2024, in Greater Noida. Attendees at these exhibitions will have the invaluable opportunity to engage directly with a delegation representing key tourism industry stakeholders. This delegation spans entities such as Regional Tourism Organizations, Destination Management Companies, and Airlines, collectively working to bolster Korea's appeal in the eyes of Indian travelers.
Korea's tourism aspirations align seamlessly with a broader target of achieving 20 million foreign visitors by 2024. Armed with a proven track record and a forward-looking strategy, Korea aims not just to attract Indian travelers but to leave an indelible mark on the competitive canvas of global tourism. The stage is set for a dynamic interplay of cultures and a celebration of shared wanderlust, as Korea beckons Indian travelers to explore its enchanting landscapes and diverse cultural treasures.
