Emirates is taking its award-winning Premium Economy experience a step further with the launch of the world’s first electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height adjustable privacy screen. The new seat will debut on newly received Airbus A350 aircraft, giving passengers greater control over their personal space while adding new levels of comfort and convenience.
The Emirates A350 Premium Economy cabin features a spacious 2-3-2 configuration with 28 seats. Each seat is 20 inches wide, with a seat pitch of up to 39 inches. The seats also recline into a cradle position without intruding into the row behind, allowing passengers to relax or sleep more comfortably. The new electric privacy divider extends to the full height of the seat, making it the first feature of its kind in a Premium Economy cabin worldwide. Passengers can easily raise or lower the divider using the seat controls and lock it into their preferred position. This creates a more private setting for working, dining or relaxing during the flight.
The new seat is also Emirates' first fully electrically powered Premium Economy seat. Through the integrated Passenger Control Unit, customers can adjust their seating position at the touch of a button, with dedicated settings including lounge mode and meal mode.
Emirates has also introduced its U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats to the Premium Economy cabin. The leather headrest provides added neck and head support, with adjustable wings that can be positioned according to individual preference. A manually deployable leather footrest further enhances comfort and helps reduce leg fatigue during longer flights.
For the first time, Emirates Premium Economy seats will also feature wireless charging, allowing passengers to power compatible devices during the journey. Every seat comes with USB-C charging, along with a tray table featuring an integrated phone holder. This allows passengers to keep their devices conveniently positioned while enjoying meals or using them as a second screen.
Passengers travelling on the new A350 aircraft can enjoy Emirates' ice inflight entertainment system through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen, offering high picture quality and responsive navigation. The aircraft will also feature enhanced exterior camera views. Along with the existing forward and downward views, passengers will have access to left and right exterior perspectives, providing a broader view of the journey.
The new seat adds to Emirates' wider Premium Economy offering, which includes gourmet, regionally inspired menus prepared by Emirates' chefs. Meals are served on Royal Doulton fine china, with linen napkins and stainless-steel Robert Welch cutlery. The dining experience is complemented by a selection of premium beverages, including Chandon Vintage Brut 2021, available exclusively to Emirates Premium Economy customers worldwide.
From September, customers on select routes can also enjoy wines including Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 and La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014. October will bring another first for Emirates, with Wiston Estate Brut NV, the airline's first English sparkling wine, being served exclusively in Premium Economy on UK routes. Emirates says it has invested more than US$1 billion in its wine portfolio since 2006, supporting its continued focus on its onboard beverage programme.
On long-haul flights, Premium Economy passengers will also receive reusable amenity kits created in partnership with United for Wildlife. The collectible bags use bio-based materials, including cactus leather alternatives, and feature designs inspired by endangered wildlife across four natural habitats. For the first time in Premium Economy, the kits also include plant-powered skincare products from Aveda, along with essentials such as socks, eyeshades, earplugs and a dental kit.
Since introducing Premium Economy in 2022, Emirates has continued to expand the cabin across its fleet. The product is now available across all markets currently served by its A350 aircraft. Inspired by the airline's Business Class experience, Emirates Premium Economy combines spacious seating, generous legroom, refined dining and premium entertainment.
The cabin has also received several industry recognitions, including Best Premium Economy Class at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards in 2024 and 2025, as well as Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class at the 2025 ULTRAs Awards. The launch of the world's first electrically powered Premium Economy seat with a full-height privacy screen adds another chapter to Emirates' focus on aviation innovation and customer experience, as the airline continues to develop products designed to help customers Fly Better.
