In response to the escalating demand for air travel between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, Air India Express (AIE) has introduced two new flight services, marking a significant addition to the connectivity between Karnataka's capital and its coastal counterpart. This move comes as part of the airline's commitment to meet the growing travel needs of passengers in the region.

The recently launched services, AIE IX 782 and AIE IX1795, will now operate seven flights daily between Bengaluru and Mangaluru. The commencement of these flights is a strategic response to the rising demand for convenient and efficient air travel options connecting these two prominent cities.

Mangaluru International Airport has been witnessing a surge in aviation activities, with several airlines recognizing the city's appeal to flyers from Karnataka and neighboring Kerala. The addition of extra flight services is seen as a testament to the growing popularity of Mangaluru as a significant aviation hub.

IndiGo has also played a role in enhancing air connectivity from Mangaluru International Airport. The airline recently announced the launch of a third direct flight from Mangaluru to Hyderabad, further expanding its network from this coastal city. This development follows the introduction of new direct routes connecting Tamil Nadu's Salem with Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

The recently inaugurated Shivamogga airport has become a crucial node in the air travel network of central Karnataka. With Star Air and IndiGo already operating from this new facility, plans are underway for additional domestic services. The airport, built at a cost of around ₹600 crores, demonstrates the commitment to expanding aviation infrastructure in Karnataka.

To ensure optimum connectivity, Air India Express has carefully designed the flight schedule of IX 782. Departing from Varanasi at 8 am, the flight lands at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) at 10.30 am. After a brief layover, it departs from KIA at 11.10 am, reaching Mangaluru by 12.10 pm. This flight, available until November 25, will subsequently connect Chennai to Mangaluru via Bengaluru starting from November 26.

The inaugural flight, IX 782, received a traditional water cannon salute upon landing at Mangaluru International Airport. The airport organized a welcome ceremony for the first batch of passengers, marking the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony. With the second flight, IX 1795, operating on the Kannur-Bengaluru-Mangaluru route, the total daily flights between these cities have now reached seven.

As Mangaluru continues to soar in aviation prominence, these developments underline the region's increasing significance in the Indian aviation landscape.
