Recently, the team Hospitalitynews had the pleasure of visiting Shilton Dee Cee Hotel, located in the heart of T.Nagar, Chennai, and were truly amazed by the excellent service and warm hospitality. With 56 well-appointed rooms, the property caters to discerning leisure and corporate travellers seeking a tranquil urban retreat without compromising on convenience.
From the moment we stepped into the lobby and checked into the room, the Shilton Dee Cee team provided extraordinary service, assisting promptly with every need, ensuring food was served on time, and delivering a culinary experience that stood out for its quality and care towards guests.
Starting the day with a South Indian breakfast, we enjoyed crispy dosas, delicious side dishes, and a cup of top-notch Filter Coffee. We also discovered that the hotel offers an extensive Continental menu to make the dining experience even more delightful.
The rooftop lounge was another highlight, offering panoramic city views paired beautifully with handcrafted cocktails and light bites, an exciting spot to relax and soak in Chennai’s skyline.
In-room amenities reflected a thoughtful blend of luxury and sustainability. Essentials like shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion were provided through dispensers to minimise plastic waste. Guests could also request additional items like dental kits, shaving kits, soap bars, shower caps, combs, slippers, and even coconut oil, all delivered promptly, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to positive, sustainable practices.
Adding to the experience were Watson’s Pub and Kolam Café, both located within the hotel. Watson’s Pub impressed with its vibrant menu and genuinely crafted drinks, while Kolam Café celebrated the rich flavours of authentic South Indian cuisine through its thoughtfully curated menu.
For business travellers, we heard that Shilton Dee Cee offers modern meeting spaces equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, advanced audio-visual technology, and dedicated event coordinators, making it an ideal choice for meetings and corporate events.
Under the leadership of General Manager Rishibh Seth, the entire team showcased a unique and heartfelt approach to guest care, elevating the stay experience to the next level. In total, a day at Shilton Dee Cee Hotel was made perfect by their guest-centric approach, impeccable services, and attention to detail, making it an unforgettable stay!

In a world that's evolving at the speed of technology where automation and digital convenience often dominate the hospitality industry stands out as a rare constant — a people-first profession rooted in connection warmth and genuine care As we celebrate International Hospitality Day it's important to reflect on why hospitality still matters and how it continues to shape lives and experiences across the globe
At its core hospitality is more than service it's about creating moments that last Whether it's a hotel receptionist remembering your name a chef crafting a dish with regional soul or a housekeeper ensuring your room feels like home every interaction is driven by people who care These human touches transform places into memories and transactions into relationships
Despite global challenges and the rise of digital interfaces the industry has shown remarkable resilience and innovation Today hospitality is about balancing technology with empathy Smart rooms contactless check-ins and AI-driven personalization are enhancing guest convenience but what truly elevates the experience is still the passion of the people behind the scenes
From boutique hotels to luxury resorts the focus has shifted to purpose-driven hospitality emphasizing sustainability community engagement and employee well-being Guests today are more conscious and curious they seek not just comfort but connection They want to know the story behind the space the chef behind the plate and the culture behind the smile
Hospitality is ultimately about people It's our teams our culture and our passion that define the guest experience As an industry we must continue to value the human element because no technology can replicate genuine warmth and heartfelt service
Celebrating International Hospitality Day is not just about acknowledging an industry it's about honouring the spirit that drives it It's about the chefs stewards receptionists managers and countless others who make the world a little more welcoming every single day
As we look ahead one thing is clear hospitality will always matter Because in every corner of the world people will always crave connection kindness and the comfort of being cared for and that's something only hospitality can truly deliver
