In a notable accolade, the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the foremost hospitality giant in India, has been celebrated at the esteemed Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Awards. This recognition underscores IHCL's unwavering commitment to promoting a workplace that thrives on diversity and inclusivity, regardless of background.
The DEI Awards, a collaborative venture between the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ernst & Young, a thought partner, serve to honor organizations that have shown exceptional dedication to creating an environment where each individual is respected, embraced, and actively engaged, irrespective of their differences.
IHCL's recognition in these awards sheds light on the company's pioneering efforts in enhancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across its operational spectrum. Gaurav Pokhariyal, the Executive Vice President of Human Resources at IHCL, commented on this achievement, stating, "At IHCL, Diversity and Inclusion are pivotal elements within our ESG+ framework called Paathya. We are committed to establishing a level playing field, promoting gender equality, and supporting differently-abled talents. Notably, we have taken the pledge to allocate 50% of our available job positions to women candidates during campus recruitment, an initiative that reflects our dedication to gender balance. Our forward-thinking policies encompass extended maternity leave, childcare facilities, comprehensive healthcare coverage including IVF treatments, and skill development programs for marginalized communities. This recognition validates our continuous pursuit of creating a positive societal impact."
IHCL's focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is more than just a philosophy; it's an embodiment of its values and vision. The company's multifaceted approach to inclusivity extends beyond mere representation—it is about creating an environment where everyone's voice is heard, appreciated, and actively included. This approach aligns seamlessly with the global trend towards diverse and inclusive workplaces that foster innovation, collaboration, and holistic growth.
The hospitality industry, by nature, is all about creating welcoming and enriching experiences for people. IHCL's recognition at the DEI Awards resonates with its commitment to extending the same warmth and inclusiveness to its workforce. As an industry leader, IHCL's initiatives in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion set a benchmark for others to follow, fostering a more equitable and harmonious work culture that benefits individuals and the organization alike.
In conclusion, IHCL's acknowledgment at the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry's DEI Awards signifies not just an achievement, but a testament to its dedication to championing diversity, ensuring equity, and promoting inclusion. The award stands as a reminder of IHCL's commitment to shaping a brighter future for both its employees and the larger community through its inclusive practices.

jüSTa Hotels & Resorts, operated by Onora Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., is all set to make its Uttar Pradesh debut with the launch of jüSTa Kashi Parampara in August 2025. This will be the boutique brand’s 26th hotel in India and its first in the spiritual city of Varanasi.
Located just 800 meters from the iconic Assi Ghat, jüSTa Kashi Parampara occupies an 80-year-old ancestral home, transformed into a hotel for the first time. Offering a seamless blend of heritage and design, the property promises a deeply immersive stay experience in the cultural heart of India.
“This project is close to our hearts, not just because of its unique character and location, but because it continues our commitment to preserving and reviving heritage properties across India. We started this initiative with jüSTa Diwans Bungalow in Ahmedabad last year and this is the second heritage property we are converting into a jüSTa hotel,” said Ashish Vohra, Founder & CEO, jüSTa Hotels & Resorts.
The two-storied bungalow has been reimagined into 14 well-appointed rooms, including two elegant suites, all built around a central courtyard. Interiors in earthy tones create a serene contrast to Varanasi’s bustling atmosphere, making it an ideal retreat for wellness and spiritual travellers.
Heritage elements such as 100-year-old handcrafted wooden pillars, sandstone jali work from Jodhpur, and high ceilings enhance the haveli-like charm. The hotel will serve only vegetarian food, with guests enjoying local and international cuisine at the in-house multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant.
With its understated exterior and tranquil interiors, jüSTa Kashi Parampara is poised to offer travellers an authentic yet luxurious Banaras experience when it opens in August 2025.
