Delhi just got a new street food gem! Galli Gully Cafe, a spirited, street-inspired café by Meenakshi Kumar, the force behind Roots Café, has opened its first outlet in Zamrudpur, near GK 1’s N Block Market.

Open from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM daily (with plans to extend hours soon), the cafe is rooted in the idea of turning everyday Indian gallis into flavour-packed, joyful, and inclusive food spaces.

"After creating Roots Café, I wanted to do something bolder—more street, more soul", says Meenakshi Kumar, founder and chef. “Galli Gully is our love letter to Indian street food—and a safe space for women, queer, and trans folks to reclaim the dining experience”.

Galli Gully doesn’t hold back on flavour or flair. The menu brings a playful twist to familiar favourites, Bun Maska Chutney Bhujia, Keema Maggi, Aloo Tikki with Green Apple Chutney, and the crowd-favourite Gully Chicken Roll with Gunpowder Mayo. Want something spicy and addictive? Try the Sambal Chilli Fries. Their drinks are equally creative with Iced Orange Filter Coffee and Chatori Cold Brew standing out.

The cafe’s vibe is cheeky, loud, and full of life, think neon signs, funky tiles, desi-style wall quotes, vintage posters, and colourful stools that invite lingering chats and laughs. It’s a visual and sensory experience, a little bit tapri, a little bit TikTok, and all heart.

To celebrate the opening, the cafe is offering a Galli Welcome Combo, a roll, fries, and drink at a special price for the first two weeks. Looking ahead, they plan to host queer artist nights, slam poetry, and pop-ups with home chefs, keeping the vibe fresh and community-driven.

Meenakshi sums it up best: "Galli Gully is not just about food, it’s about belonging. It’s for everyone who’s ever felt ‘too much’ at the table. Here, you're celebrated. You’re seen. You’re fed".

So if you’re looking for food with soul and a place that feels like home, welcome to Galli Gully Cafe.
