Ketchup is a familiar part of everyday meals in Indian households, particularly for families with children. From breakfast and lunchboxes to snacks and regular meals, it continues to be a popular accompaniment. Looking to rethink this everyday staple with a different ingredient approach, Gladful has launched its new Tomato Ketchup.
Made with 33% tomato paste, Gladful Tomato Ketchup uses Kachi Khand instead of refined sugar. The product contains no preservatives, added colours or added flavours, while offering a thick and rich texture with a tomato-forward taste designed to retain the familiar tangy-sweet flavour children enjoy.
The launch addresses a simple balance that many parents look for in everyday food choices, giving children the taste they are familiar with while offering parents an ingredient approach they can feel better about. Gladful aims to improve an existing household staple without asking families to compromise on taste or convenience.
“The idea behind our ketchup is simple. We don't want children to feel like they are compromising on taste, and we don't want parents to compromise on the ingredients they choose for their families. Ketchup is already a part of everyday eating, so we wanted to rethink it with an ingredient approach parents can feel better about,” said Parul Sharma, Co-Founder & CEO, Gladful.
The new ketchup also marks another step in Gladful’s evolution as a broader kids’ breakfast and tiffin brand. Following its entry into chocolate spreads, the ketchup expands the brand further into the savoury side of the sauces and spreads category and gives it a presence in an everyday, high-frequency consumption segment.
Gladful Tomato Ketchup has a simple ingredient list comprising water, tomato paste (33%), Kachi Khand, salt, tapioca starch, fruit pectin, vinegar, ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, spices and condiments. The product contains no preservatives, added colours or added flavours.
With its latest launch, Gladful continues to build on its belief that everyday foods can be made with better ingredient choices, while keeping the familiar tastes that families enjoy.
