In a proud moment for Indian brewing, DeVANS Godfather Super 8 Beer has clinched the Gold Medal at the Asia Beer Challenge 2025 held in Hong Kong. The results, announced recently, mark a significant milestone for Indian beer on the global stage.
Awarded in the Strong Lager category, Godfather Super 8 was judged through a triple-blind tasting process by some of Asia’s foremost beer experts, ensuring complete neutrality and credibility. This recognition affirms the beer’s position as one of Asia’s top strong lagers.
Launched as India’s pioneering strong lager, Godfather Super 8 stands out for its bold 8% ABV profile. Despite its high strength, it remains smooth, making it a favorite among consumers who appreciate bold, full-bodied beers. Brewed with premium ingredients, the beer reflects the strength, character, and legacy that the Godfather brand has carried since its inception in 1984.
Prem Dewan, Chairman and Managing Director of DeVANS Modern Breweries Ltd, expressed his pride in the achievement, saying:
“This remarkable achievement at the Asia Beer Challenge 2025 is a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication to craft exceptional beers that blend tradition with innovation. The beer was developed in-house by our production team keeping in view the desired parameters without any compromises. Our success at this prestigious international competition underscores the passion and quality consciousness which drives our growth as a leading Indian brewery with complete focus on quality, delivering value for our consumers.”
The Asia Beer Challenge is one of the most respected competitions in the region, judged exclusively by top Asian beer buyers, the decision-makers who shape the market. Triumphing here not only provides an international stamp of approval but also amplifies global visibility for the winning brands.
Godfather Super 8’s gold win is more than just a brand milestone, it is a victory for Indian craft brewing, proving that Indian beers can match global standards in quality and innovation. This recognition paves the way for DeVANS to expand its footprint further while continuing to create products that resonate with both Indian and international consumers.
