India’s very own GoodDot has carved a place for itself on the world stage by landing the 20th spot in the global FoodTech 500 list — often referred to as the "Fortune 500 of AgriFoodTech." Compiled by the London-based Forward Fooding, this prestigious list highlights the most groundbreaking companies leading the charge in food, tech, and sustainability.
What makes this recognition even more remarkable is that GoodDot is one of just four Asian startups to make it to the top 20. The spotlight not only celebrates the company’s progress but also puts India on the global map for innovation in the plant protein sector.
Abhishek Sinha, Founder of GoodDot, expressed his gratitude saying, “We are honoured to be recognised as one of the top companies in the FoodTech 500. This recognition not only validates the hard work and vision of our entire team but also underscores the global impact we're making in the plant protein space. Our mission is to offer affordable, scalable, and sustainable alternatives to traditional protein sources, and we are thrilled to see that our efforts are gaining traction globally.”
The scale of the competition was intense, over 10,500 startups from more than 90 countries applied this year. Emerging from such a diverse and dynamic pool, GoodDot’s ranking speaks volumes about its influence and commitment to shaping a better future for food.
More than just a business success story, this milestone reflects GoodDot’s role in redefining how the world views food production and sustainability. The company has stayed true to its mission by developing shelf-stable, plant-based protein alternatives that are both eco-conscious and pocket-friendly.
Its impact isn’t just limited to market growth, GoodDot has also been recognised for its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 2 (Zero Hunger). The Economist even featured the company in its Food Sustainability Index and named it one of three global best practices in a white paper on food sustainability.
The FoodTech 500, launched in 2019, shines a light on startups that are innovating across sectors such as agtech, food delivery, restaurant tech, food safety, and waste management. Since its inception, the initiative has drawn applicants from over 180 countries, raising a combined $24.6 billion and gaining a staggering global readership of 350 million monthly.
For GoodDot, this moment is not just a feather in the cap but a defining chapter in its journey. As global food systems evolve to demand more scalable and sustainable models, the company’s work is a strong signal of where the future is headed — and India is proudly at the centre of it.
