Hamad International Airport (HIA) has been recognized for its groundbreaking 1.2 km digital ribbon, located in 'The Orchard', its indoor tropical garden, securing the prestigious 'Large-format digital canvases' award at the esteemed Digital Signage Awards. This accolade underscores HIA's commitment to revolutionizing the airport experience through innovative design and technology integration.

The digital ribbon, a prominent feature of HIA's Phase A expansion plan, adds a captivating dimension to the airport's retail and dining spaces, transforming them into immersive environments that captivate travelers. Unveiled in November 2022, The Orchard spans an impressive 6,000 square meters and is home to a diverse array of sustainable flora sourced from around the globe.

Integrated into the lush greenery of The Orchard, the state-of-the-art digital ribbon spans across two storeys, stretching approximately 1.2 kilometers. Developed in collaboration with Moment Factory, a renowned multimedia studio, the ribbon showcases over 169 million pixels of animation, projecting bespoke visuals that enhance the ambiance of the tropical garden.

The visual displays of the ribbon encompass a variety of themes, including luxurious botanical elements, depictions of local flora and fauna, and cultural motifs that pay homage to Qatar's rich heritage. Every hour, the display comes to life with captivating animations, offering travelers an immersive experience that seamlessly blends technology with nature.

Located in the North Plaza and connected to the South Plaza, The Orchard is easily accessible via the Passenger Train or travelators, offering passengers a convenient way to explore this innovative space. The collaboration between HIA and Moment Factory exemplifies the airport's dedication to leveraging technology and creativity to redefine airport spaces and elevate the passenger experience.
