If you've been to a Harajuku Tokyo Café in Delhi or Mumbai, you already know what the fuss is about, jiggly pancakes, Kaiten conveyor belt sushi, manga-inspired interiors, and an energy that feels genuinely unlike anything else in India's dining scene. And now, a lot more people are about to find out what they've been missing.
Harajuku Tokyo Café & Bakehouse has announced a serious multi-city expansion, and it's not a small step, it's a full-on leap. The brand is deepening its presence in Delhi with a specialised Bakehouse, rolling out a sprawling flagship Tokyo Café and Bakehouse in Mumbai, making its long-awaited debut in Bengaluru, and launching its very first all-vegetarian outlet in Gujarat. For a brand that started as a boutique cult favourite, this is a whole new chapter.
The man behind all of it is founder Gaurav Kanwar. Armed with an analytical background from the London School of Economics and the University of Warwick, Kanwar spotted something that most people in the industry had missed, Japanese cuisine in India was almost entirely locked inside five-star hotels, formal and untouchable. After spending time researching in Tokyo and Osaka, he came back with a very different vision, one that put soul and experience first, and left the stuffiness at the door.
"There's something incredibly special about watching people truly connect with what you've built," says Kanwar. "The response we received in Delhi was overwhelming, and Mumbai took that love to another level. It reassured us that this vision resonates. As we now expand into Bangalore and other cities, it feels like the right time to share this experience with an even wider audience, while staying true to the care, energy, and authenticity that define us."
What makes Harajuku stand out isn't just the food, though the food is very much a reason to show up. Each outlet draws from a different district of Japan, translating its character into the look, feel, and energy of the space. The Mumbai outlet channels the vibrant buzz of Shibuya. The M3M IFC Gurugram outlet reflects the neon-lit nightlife of Kabukicho. The Ambience Mall Gurugram outlet takes its cues from the cultural warmth of Ueno. Every location feels like its own world, which is a big part of why people keep coming back.
The menu carries its own loyal following. The viral jiggly pancakes and Japanese cotton cheesecake have taken on a life of their own on social media, while the Kaiten conveyor belt sushi keeps the experience playful and interactive. Inventive beverages round things out, it's a menu that's as fun to order from as it is to eat.
The Gujarat launch is particularly significant, a first-ever all-vegetarian Harajuku, reimagining the brand's entire experience for an audience that doesn't compromise on that front. It's a bold move that shows just how seriously the brand is thinking about who it wants to welcome through its doors.
Bengaluru, meanwhile, marks Harajuku's first step into the South Indian market, a city with a strong appetite for quality dining and an equally strong sense of what's worth the hype. If the Delhi and Mumbai responses are anything to go by, the southern debut is going to make some noise.
This expansion isn't just about more locations, it's about Harajuku planting its flag as the go-to name for Japanese dining in India, city by city, one unforgettable experience at a time.

This Father’s Day, Serious Slice is rewriting the rules of the family table with a simple idea “The First Slice is His.” The Bengaluru-based pizza destination is turning Father’s Day 2026 into a warm, relaxed, and slightly playful celebration that places dads right at the centre of the dining experience.
Across its Cunningham Road and RR Nagar outlets, the restaurant is moving away from formal set menus and instead focusing on comfort, familiarity, and a sense of easy celebration. The idea is straightforward: give fathers a day where they are not just present at the table, but properly celebrated.
From the moment guests arrive, the experience is designed to feel personal. Tables will feature “Reserved for Dad” placards, along with handwritten-style notes that add a simple, human touch to the celebration. Live acoustic music from local artists sets a relaxed mood, making the space feel more like a neighbourhood gathering than a curated event.
The highlight of the celebration is the “First Slice” House Rule. As part of this playful initiative, the first pizza slice loaded generously with toppings is served directly to the father at the table before anyone else. It’s a small but symbolic gesture that flips the usual dining hierarchy and ensures dads get the first bite of the meal they usually help organise.
The menu itself stays true to Serious Slice’s signature approach, fresh, indulgent, and unpretentious. Guests can expect a casual dining experience built around sharing, laughter, and comfort food that brings families together without overcomplication.
With its mix of humour, warmth, and thoughtful detail, Serious Slice’s Father’s Day celebration focuses less on extravagance and more on appreciation. It’s a reminder that sometimes the simplest gestures, a slice served first, a note of thanks, or a shared laugh can make the biggest impact.

This Father’s Day, ITC Limited’s Sunfeast Baked Creations is celebrating fathers with an emotional campaign titled ‘A Briefcase of Love’, highlighting the often-unspoken ways in which fathers express their love through responsibility, dedication, and constant support.
At the heart of the campaign is the briefcase, a familiar object that symbolises much more than work. According to the brand, it represents the responsibilities, dreams, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment that fathers carry throughout their lives for the well-being of their families.
Bringing this concept to life is the Father’s Day Couverture Chocolate Briefcase Cake, a handcrafted creation designed in the shape of a chocolate briefcase. The dessert features layers of rich chocolate sponge, caramel diplomat cream, and a crunchy texture, creating a meaningful tribute to fatherhood while offering an indulgent culinary experience.
The special Father’s Day collection also includes Dad’s Favourite Pistachio Chocolate Pastry, featuring chocolate sponge layered with pistachio mousse and finished with an edible moustache, along with the Belgian Chocolate Brownie (No Added Sugar), crafted for those seeking a more mindful dessert option without compromising on flavour.
Extending beyond its product offerings, the campaign is supported by a digital film and social media storytelling that explore the emotional significance of a father’s briefcase, not merely as an accessory, but as a symbol of cherished memories, values, and countless acts of love that often go unnoticed.
With ‘A Briefcase of Love’, Sunfeast Baked Creations encourages people to look beyond everyday objects and recognise the quiet sacrifices that define fatherhood. The Father’s Day collection is currently available across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad through leading food delivery platforms.
Father’s Day is more than just another date on the calendar, it is a chance to celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who have shaped our lives with guidance, support, and countless unforgettable memories. Featuring signature brews such as Billie’s Wit, Dangerous IPA, and Off The Wall Stout, the brewery provides a lively setting for relaxed conversations and celebratory toasts.
For families who enjoy Italian flavours, Amicii in Indiranagar offers a special Father’s Day menu featuring favourites such as Truffle Mushroom Pizza, Burrata Pizza, handmade pastas, risottos, and signature cocktails. The relaxed atmosphere makes it ideal for long lunches and family dinners.
Those looking for an Asian-inspired celebration can visit Yuki, where a curated Father’s Day menu highlights sushi, dim sums, small plates, and Japanese-inspired cocktails. Signature dishes such as Salmon Aburi Rolls and Lamb Gyozas promise a memorable dining experience.
At Gladia in Sarjapur, guests can enjoy flavourful food, handcrafted brews, and an impressive Roman-inspired ambience, creating the perfect setting for a day dedicated to dad.Families seeking entertainment beyond dining can head to Amoeba Sports Bar on Church Street. Combining bowling, arcade games, live sports screenings, and comfort food, it offers an engaging way to celebrate together while creating lasting memories.
Meanwhile, Maize & Malt is hosting a special Father’s Day brunch featuring live counters, indulgent favourites, desserts, and exciting giveaways, including the chance to win an iPhone.
Whether it’s a relaxed brunch, a craft beer experience, a sushi feast, or an action-packed day of games and entertainment, Bengaluru’s restaurants are ensuring that Father’s Day is celebrated with warmth, flavour, and quality time spent together.
