In a move to strengthen its foothold in luxury hospitality across Asia Pacific, global hospitality leader Hilton has welcomed Candice D’Cruz as Vice President of Luxury Brands for the region. Based in Singapore, Candice will lead Hilton’s esteemed luxury brands, including Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts, and Conrad Hotels & Resorts.

With a rich background in the industry, Candice brings over two decades of experience to her role. Formerly the Vice President of Luxury Brand Management and Marketing for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Marriott International, she has been recognized as a leader in her field, receiving accolades such as being named number one in "The Power of 25" by Hotelier Middle East in 2019.

In her new role, Candice aims to shape distinctive brand identities and curate localized guest experiences, emphasizing the pivotal role they play in ensuring the enduring success of Hilton’s luxury brands in the region. Her strategic guidance is expected to contribute significantly to Hilton’s commitment to delivering exceptional luxury experiences.

“I am delighted to embark on this journey with Hilton based out of the vibrant city of Singapore. My passion lies in shaping distinctive brand identities alongside curated and localized guest experiences, recognizing their pivotal role in ensuring our brands’ enduring success throughout the region,” said Candice D’Cruz. 

Candice, of Indian origin, currently resides in Singapore with her husband and two children. She is passionate about championing the development of female leaders and cultivating young talent, and she looks forward to empowering her teams to unlock their full potential in this new role.

Hilton’s commitment to luxury hospitality in Asia Pacific is further emphasized by Candice’s appointment, and her extensive experience is expected to play a key role in the brand’s growth and development in the region.

Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati has announced the appointment of Samata Danday Chand as its Hotel Manager, bringing on board an experienced hospitality leader as the property gears up for its much-anticipated opening. The hotel is yet to open and is expected to welcome guests by April.

With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Samata brings deep operational knowledge and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. Her leadership approach is rooted in service excellence, team empowerment, and building high-performance cultures that deliver consistent results.

She began her career with IHCL – Taj Group of Hotels, where she spent nearly a decade as Executive Housekeeper. During this phase, she successfully led several pre-opening projects and renovation initiatives, gaining strong exposure to large-scale hotel operations. She later moved into Learning & Development roles, contributing to the strengthening of talent development and training frameworks.

Samata’s career progression saw her take on senior operational roles, including Operations Manager and Director of Rooms, where she oversaw end-to-end hotel operations and played a key role in driving efficiency and service standards across departments.

Most recently, she was associated with JW Marriott Bengaluru Golfshire as Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms. In this role, she was instrumental in enhancing luxury guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence in a highly competitive environment.

Outside of her professional role, Samata is a keen traveller, an avid long-distance driver, and a dedicated yoga practitioner. She will be accompanied by her husband Kartik and their children, Akshat and Samaira, as she takes on this new assignment.

Her appointment comes at a crucial phase for Courtyard by Marriott Tirupati, as the hotel prepares for its opening and sets the foundation for strong operational performance under experienced leadership.

Sharma brings with her over 20 years of extensive experience across luxury hospitality and corporate organizations, with a strong focus on people strategy, leadership development, organizational culture, and HR excellence. Her professional journey spans leading hospitality brands including The Leela, Marriott, Westin, Taj Hotels, and Green Park Hotels & Resorts, along with early-career experience in the corporate sector with 24/7 Customer and Wipro.

Throughout her career in hospitality, Sharma has played a pivotal role in building high-performing teams, strengthening talent pipelines, and fostering inclusive and people-centric work environments. Her expertise in aligning business goals with human capital strategies has consistently contributed to organisational growth and service excellence.

As Area Director of Human Resources, Sharma will be responsible for talent acquisition and development, succession planning, employee engagement, performance management, and strengthening HR governance frameworks. She will also champion Hyatt’s values and service culture, ensuring consistent people practices and meaningful employee experiences across all teams.

Crowne Plaza Muscat Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre has announced the appointment of Chandan Sharma as its new Director of Sales & Marketing, reinforcing the hotel’s leadership team as it sharpens its commercial focus and market positioning.

Chandan brings with him over 16 years of experience across sales, marketing, and commercial leadership roles within the luxury and upper-upscale hospitality space. Known for his results-driven approach, he has consistently delivered revenue growth, built strong commercial teams, and enhanced brand visibility in highly competitive markets.

Before joining Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, Chandan held senior roles with several leading global hospitality brands. His career journey includes key positions with Shangri-La Hotels, Radisson Hotel Group, Marriott International under the Sheraton Grand, and The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. Across these roles, he has led hotel sales strategies, managed MICE, catering and banquets, overseen regional sales operations, and driven integrated marketing initiatives.

Over the years, Chandan has earned recognition for achieving sustained year-on-year revenue growth and exceeding budget targets across rooms as well as catering segments. His experience also includes managing high-profile events and government delegations, along with leading landmark large-scale initiatives, one of which received recognition under a Guinness World Record. He is also a recipient of the South Asia Travel Award (SATA).

In his new role, Chandan will oversee the overall sales and marketing strategy at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC. His responsibilities include strengthening key partnerships, expanding MICE and corporate segments, and positioning the property for steady growth across both domestic and international markets. The appointment reflects the hotel’s focus on long-term commercial performance and a strong market-led approach.
