Hilton has announced a new long-term agreement to continue managing the Hilton Munich Park hotel, in partnership with a joint venture of Commerz Real AG and Hines. The property, a landmark since its opening for the Munich Olympic Games, will undergo a significant redevelopment as part of the Tucherpark project, a mixed-use development that will blend residential, retail, office, and hospitality spaces.
The Hilton Munich Park hotel is set to play a pivotal role in the Tucherpark project, which aims to create a vibrant new community in Munich. The redevelopment plans include a new rooftop restaurant and bar with panoramic views of the adjacent English Gardens, one of the largest urban parks in the world. Additional upgrades will involve expanded dining and retail areas on the ground floor, redesigned meeting spaces including a larger ballroom and a unique city garden venue, and enhanced wellness facilities.
The transformation of Hilton Munich Park will begin with the closure of the current hotel on December 31, 2024, with the project expected to be completed by 2029. During this period, Hilton will continue to serve guests at its other properties in Munich, including Hilton Munich City and Hilton Munich Airport.
David Kelly, Hilton's Senior Vice President for Continental Europe, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “More than five decades since its opening, we’re thrilled to confirm these exciting plans for Hilton Munich Park’s future. The hotel’s new innovative design and state-of-the-art facilities are set to solidify its status as an iconic destination, and ensure it continues to attract business and leisure travelers from around the world, as well as local residents.”
Dirk Schuldes, Global Head of Hospitality and Shopping at Commerz Real AG, emphasized the significance of the partnership with Hilton, noting that Hilton's strong brand presence will be key to the success of the Tucherpark community.
The redevelopment of Hilton Munich Park is part of a broader vision to harmonize urban convenience with natural beauty, ensuring that the hotel remains a premier destination in Munich for years to come.
