With a career spanning over 25 years, including two decades in the hospitality industry, Akhtar brings extensive experience and expertise to this crucial role.

In his new position, Akhtar will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations at Holiday Inn Mumbai, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and efficiency. His appointment underscores the hotel's dedication to delivering exceptional service and maintaining a world-class facility for its guests.

Akhtar's impressive background includes a successful tenure as Assistant General Manager - Technical Operations at M/S SILA Facility Company, where he managed facilities for Oberoi Eternia and Windsor Grande Residences. He also served as Director of Engineering at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, leading operations, major CAPEX projects, and comprehensive renovations. His experience spans prestigious hotels such as Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa and Sofitel Mumbai BKC, highlighting his capability in managing large-scale engineering operations and projects.

Surat Marriott Hotel has announced the appointment of Bishwajeet Kumar as its new executive chef. Kumar brings with him over 23 years of experience in culinary leadership, spanning hotel kitchens, air catering services, cruise liners, and large-scale catering operations. He has worked with reputed hospitality brands such as Marriott International, IHCL, Hyatt, InterContinental Hotels Group, and The Orchid. His most recent role was with IHCL’s TajSats Air Catering in Goa.

With expertise in leading kitchen operations, developing menus, and delivering memorable dining experiences, Kumar is known for his operational precision and creative culinary approach.

In his new role at Surat Marriott Hotel, Kumar will oversee all culinary operations, including the hotel’s signature restaurants, banquets, and in-room dining. His focus will be on diligent operations, consistent food quality, and enhancing the guest experience.
