Holland America Line is bringing forward the highly anticipated Holland America Evolution transformation of Oosterdam by five weeks, following strong guest demand for cruises aboard the newly reimagined ship. Oosterdam will now enter refurbishment earlier than planned and return to service with its first post-Evolution voyage departing 31 October 2027.

The revised schedule will allow Holland America Line to add five additional voyages aboard the transformed Oosterdam, covering the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean. The ship’s refurbishment will take place in Marseille, France. To accommodate the accelerated transformation, several previously published voyages from 11 September 2027 to 9 December 2027 have been cancelled. Affected guests and travel advisors are being contacted directly with rebooking options.

Guests will have more opportunities to enjoy all of the enhancements coming to Oosterdam, from new stateroom and suite categories to the Grand Dutch Café and redesigned Ocean Bar. We're excited to welcome guests aboard as Oosterdam begins this new chapter and to give them the opportunity to be among the first to experience her transformation."

Holland America Evolution brings new enhancements while retaining the premium service, carefully crafted itineraries and welcoming atmosphere associated with the cruise line.

Following the dry dock, Oosterdam will begin its inaugural post-transformation voyage with a 10-day cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, Italy, departing 31 October 2027. The itinerary will visit destinations across Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.

The four other new cruises include an 11-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Piraeus (Athens), Greece, departing 10 November 2027; a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Piraeus to Barcelona, Spain, departing 21 November 2027; a 13-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, departing 28 November 2027; and an 11-day Caribbean itinerary roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale departing 11 December 2027.

Guests who were booked on the previously scheduled inaugural cruise and first transatlantic cruise in December 2027 will have the opportunity to move to the corresponding new voyages and remain among the first guests to sail aboard the post-Evolution Oosterdam. The new voyages will open for sale in early October.
