Hyatt Hotels has reached a major milestone with a record-breaking pipeline of nearly 138,000 rooms expected by the end of 2024. This remarkable growth marks a nearly 50% increase in the total pipeline properties compared to the previous year, underlining Hyatt’s aggressive global expansion strategy.
In tandem with this growth, Hyatt has reorganized its brand offerings into five unique portfolios: Luxury, Lifestyle, Inclusive, Classics, and Essentials. This realignment is designed to better meet the diverse preferences of travelers while optimizing returns for property owners. By streamlining its operations, Hyatt aims to deliver focused service and enhance its competitive edge across the global hospitality landscape.
Commenting on this strategic evolution, Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt President and CEO, said, “Hyatt’s growth and strategic brand evolution reflect our commitment to creating long-term value for owners and driving the performance of our hotels by delivering distinctive experiences for travelers. By focusing on this evolution, we are not only enhancing guest satisfaction but also strengthening our hotels’ success and competitive advantage, driving preference among owners, guests, customers, and World of Hyatt members.”
A key driver of this growth has been Hyatt’s acquisition of Standard International’s brands, including The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels, as well as the newly launched The StandardX brand. This acquisition added 22 operational hotels and over 30 projects in the pipeline, significantly boosting the Lifestyle portfolio. Recent openings in this segment include Hotel Saint Augustine in Houston, The StandardX in Bangkok Phra Arthit, and Thompson Palm Springs. Upcoming openings are set to feature prominent locations such as TOOR Hotel in Toronto, The Standard Brussels, Dream Valle de Guadalupe in Latin America, and Andaz Hong Kong Central.
Hyatt’s upper-midscale extended-stay brand, Hyatt Studios, has also shown impressive growth with over 50 executed deals entering 22 new markets and attracting 27 new owners. The first Hyatt Studios property is set to open in Mobile/Tillman’s Corner in the first quarter of 2025, followed by additional locations in Fayetteville, Riverside, and Pensacola.
In the Luxury portfolio, exciting new additions include Alila Dong’ao Island Zhuhai, Park Hyatt Johannesburg, and Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol. These developments, along with Hyatt’s expanded pipeline across all portfolios, underscore the company’s commitment to delivering diverse and high-quality experiences to its guests worldwide.
With its robust growth pipeline and brand realignment, Hyatt Hotels continues to set new benchmarks in the global hospitality industry, offering innovative and memorable experiences for both guests and property owners.
