Hyatt Regency Chandigarh has appointed Deepak Sarkar as its new Executive Chef, effective October 14, 2024. Sarkar, with over two decades in the hospitality industry, is set to redefine the culinary experience at the property with his commitment to innovative flavors and a passion for memorable dining.
An alumnus of IHM Gwalior, Sarkar’s career began as a commis chef at The Metropolitan Hotel in New Delhi in 2002. Since then, he has excelled in key roles at top brands, including ITC Royal Bengal Kolkata, where he launched six successful outlets, and Shangri-La, The Leela Kempinski, Oberoi Hotels, and Marriott. His global exposure in Japanese Teppanyaki and other international cuisines spans markets in Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and the Middle East.
In his role at Hyatt Regency Chandigarh, Sarkar will oversee the culinary operations across the property’s restaurants, bars, in-room dining, and event spaces. His expertise in menu planning, vendor management, and creative culinary concepts aims to enhance the hotel’s appeal to international travelers and local guests alike.
