Idlinama has brought the culinary heritage of Tamil Nadu to New Delhi with its restaurant in Greater Kailash II, offering diners an experience centred around traditional recipes, native Tamil chefs and time-honoured cooking techniques.

Located in M Block Market, Greater Kailash II, Idlinama aims to move beyond the conventional perception of “South Indian food” by highlighting the depth and diversity of Tamil Nadu's regional cuisine.

The restaurant's identity is closely connected to its family heritage. Idlinama was founded by the family of Shri A. R. Venugopala Iyengar, credited with inventing the Idli Grinder, an innovation that transformed the way idli batter was prepared.

That legacy continues through recipes passed down across generations, along with stone-ground and naturally fermented batter. The restaurant's approach focuses on preserving the traditional flavours and cooking methods associated with Tamil Nadu cuisine.

The menu features a combination of vegetarian and non-vegetarian specialities. Guests can choose from filled idlis with chicken and mutton stuffing, ultra-soft idlis served with authentic Tamil Nadu curries, Chettinad Biryani, and dosai with Chicken or Mutton Ghee Masala.

Other offerings include Medu Vadai, Masala Vadai and traditional Filter Coffee, bringing together familiar South Indian favourites and regional Tamil Nadu preparations.

Commenting on the vision behind the restaurant, Rohit Rajagopalan, Co-founder of Idlinama, said, “Idlinama was born from our desire to share the authentic food we grew up eating with more people. He added that the restaurant aims to introduce diners to the flavours of Tamil Nadu while creating the warmth of a family dining experience.
