Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has further strengthened its presence in Bhutan with the opening of Taj Paro Resort & Spa. The launch marks a significant step in IHCL’s growth across the Indian Sub-Continent and reinforces its long-standing partnership with CG Hospitality Global, a member of CG Corp Global.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO, IHCL said, “In line with our strategy of growing our footprint in the Indian Sub-Continent we are delighted to announce the opening of Taj Paro Resort & Spa. The eternal charm of the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan makes it among one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations. This addition strengthens our over two-decade strong partnership with the CG Hospitality Global, a member of the CG Corp Global, with a portfolio of hotels across the Middle East, Greater Himalayan and Indian ocean region.”

Set in the tranquil Paro valley and located beneath the revered Tiger’s Nest monastery, the 45-key Taj Paro Resort & Spa, Bhutan offers mountain-facing rooms designed to reflect the calm and beauty of the Himalayas. Guests can unwind at the Paro Lounge & Bar, which features signature cocktails and a curated selection of Bhutanese wines. Vista, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant, serves a blend of regional and global cuisines prepared in open kitchens, with views overlooking the sacred monastery.

The resort also offers a range of wellness and leisure facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool, Taj’s signature J Wellness Circle spa with holistic treatments, and a modern fitness centre, creating a balanced retreat for both relaxation and rejuvenation.

Highlighting the partnership, Dr. Binod Chaudhary, Chairman, CG Corp Global, said, “We are proud of CG Hospitality’s enduring partnership with Tata Group’s IHCL, a collaboration that has flourished for over 25 years. This launch is reflective of the confidence and trust we place in IHCL’s century-old legacy, which continues to be globally recognised as the benchmark of Indian hospitality.”

Adding to this, Mr. Rahul Chaudhary, MD & CEO of CG Hospitality Global, said, “The launch of Taj in Paro, with the unmatched hospitality of the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand will reaffirm Bhutan as a premier destination on the global tourism map.”

Bhutan continues to attract travellers with its serene landscapes and natural beauty, and IHCL already has a presence in key locations including Thimpu and Paro, with another property set to open in Phobjika. The expanded partnership between IHCL and CG Hospitality also spans several destinations across the Indian Sub-Continent and the Middle East, with properties such as Taj Exotica Resort & Spa and Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa in Maldives, Taj Samudra in Colombo, Taj Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai, Vivanta hotels in Nepal, and Taj Safaris, the luxury wildlife lodges in India and Nepal.
