The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), the largest hospitality company in India, has entered into a strategic partnership with Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels, a recently acquired entity by the Ambuja Neotia Group. This collaboration is set to enrich the Indian hospitality sector, offering guests unique and immersive travel experiences in some of the country's most serene and offbeat locations.

Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels, established in 2009, operates boutique hotels across 14 destinations, including Mussoorie, Dared, Naggar, and Udaipurwati. These resorts are strategically located away from city centers, providing guests with exclusive getaways that offer a blend of luxury, nature, and cultural immersion.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of IHCL, emphasized the synergy between the two brands, stating, "With the rising trend of experiential travel, Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels offers our discerning guests unique travel experiences in offbeat destinations, including in tier II and III cities. This partnership is in line with our vision to expand our brandscape to newer formats which cater to the ever-evolving travel needs."

The strategic alliance will enable Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels to tap into IHCL’s vast marketing and distribution network, drawing both domestic and inbound travelers to these unique destinations. Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of the Ambuja Neotia Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting the increasing demand for experiential stays and setting an ambitious target of achieving 100 properties by 2030 under the Tree of Life brand.

Starting March 1, 2024, the Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels will be available for room bookings through IHCL’s distribution network. This move is part of IHCL's broader strategy, which has already seen the company surpass market guidance by achieving a portfolio of over 300 hotels, with 90 more under development.

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) continues to expand its presence in Maharashtra with the signing of Ginger Bhiwandi, its seventh Ginger property in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Located along the Mumbai-Nashik Highway, this 151-key hotel is set to offer a fresh take on modern hospitality with its lean luxe design that caters to both business and leisure travelers.

This greenfield project marks IHCL’s commitment to providing high-quality, affordable luxury in emerging markets. Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President - Real Estate and Development at IHCL, said, "Bhiwandi, a thriving commercial hub, has witnessed significant growth in the warehousing and logistics sector. The signing of Ginger Bhiwandi is in line with our commitment to expanding our footprint in such emerging micro markets. We are delighted to partner with RNP Warehousing and Logistics Pvt. Ltd. on this project."

The Ginger Bhiwandi hotel will feature several signature elements, including Qmin, the brand's popular all-day diner known for offering a variety of delectable cuisines. Guests will also enjoy access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, swimming pool, and over 2,000 sq. ft. of versatile event spaces, including a banquet hall, meeting rooms, and pre-function areas.

Vishal Patil, Director of RNP Warehousing and Logistics Pvt. Ltd., expressed his excitement about the collaboration with IHCL, stating, "We are excited to collaborate with IHCL for a Ginger in Bhiwandi. This hotel will serve as a vibrant addition to the growing business landscape of the region."

Bhiwandi, located in the Thane district of Maharashtra, has become one of the largest warehousing and logistics hubs in Asia due to its proximity to the Nhava Sheva port. The addition of Ginger Bhiwandi will further bolster IHCL’s presence in the region, which now includes 37 hotels in Maharashtra, with 13 under development.

RNP Warehousing and Logistics Pvt. Ltd., with over 40 years of experience, has developed more than one million sq. ft. of warehouse facilities in Bhiwandi. The company, led by Vishal Patil, holds approximately 400 acres of land, solidifying its position as a key player in the logistics and warehousing industry.

With this new hotel, IHCL continues to strengthen its footprint in Maharashtra while catering to the increasing demand for contemporary, budget-friendly luxury accommodations.

The Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) proudly hosted the 5th Young Visionary Housekeepers National Convention and the 7th PHA YUVA Anniversary on September 14th, 2024, at Fortune Park JP Celestial, Bengaluru. The event drew nearly 250 participants, including YUVAs from 16 Hotel Management colleges and professionals from various sectors, including hospitality, healthcare, facility management, and aviation. This year's theme, "Technology Enabled Housekeeping" (TEHK), explored the transformative impact of technology on the housekeeping industry.

A key highlight was the panel discussion on "Housekeeping Management with Automation and Digitization", moderated by Ms. Sunita Srinivasan from T. John College. The panel featured industry experts, including Mr. Satyabrata Samal, Associate Director of Housekeeping at Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa, along with leaders from ITC Windsor, Apollo Hospital, and Olive by Embassy. Mr. Samal offered valuable insights into how Clarks Exotica has embraced AI and automation in its housekeeping operations, resulting in improved efficiency, guest satisfaction, and sustainability. He emphasized that while technology is key, Clarks Exotica maintains a personalized service touch, setting a benchmark in guest experience.

Mr. Bhavya Kaura, General Manager of Fortune Park JP Celestial, commended PHA for nurturing future hospitality leaders, while Mr. Ajay Jain, CEO of Bed and Bath Depot, stressed the importance of standardized linen quality and inventory management in hotels.

Demonstrating its commitment to developing emerging talent, Clarks Exotica sponsored meal and lifestyle vouchers for participants, underlining its active role in supporting future professionals in the hospitality industry.

The event concluded with awards for various competitions, including a housekeeping design challenge, in which M. S. Ramaiah University claimed the Champions Trophy. The day also featured cultural performances by PHA YUVA members from across India and an expert talk on AI in Housekeeping by Mr. Girish Prabhu, CEO of Instio Experiences.
