Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is making waves with its latest announcement: a brand new 300-room Ginger hotel is set to open doors near Mopa International Airport in Goa. This move comes hot on the heels of the successful launch of the 371-room Ginger Mumbai Airport hotel, marking a significant expansion of the Ginger brand, known for its “lean luxe” appeal.

Roots Corporation, IHCL's dedicated wing, has bagged a lease for a land parcel from GMR, the airport development giant, to kickstart the hotel project. This initiative is part of IHCL's broader strategy to dive into big box hotel signings under the Ginger banner, as shared by IHCL executives Suma Venkatesh and Deepika Rao during a press briefing in Mumbai.

But that's not all – Bengaluru is also on the Ginger radar. A 325-room Ginger hotel is planned near the Bengaluru International Airport, with construction expected to start within a year. These expansions are not just about adding numbers; they're about reinventing the Ginger experience. Since 2018, the brand has undergone a transformation, evolving into a lifestyle-oriented choice for the modern, aspirational traveler.

The recent Ginger Mumbai Airport property has set a high bar, boasting an 82 percent occupancy rate right from its first month and achieving a food and beverage revenue share of 29 percent – a record for Ginger hotels. These figures are a testament to the brand's growing appeal and financial success, with revenue growth and an expected annual top-line growth of 30 percent in the coming years.

IHCL's vision for Ginger extends beyond just physical expansions. The company is keen on making Ginger a digitally forward brand, enhancing both customer experience and operational efficiency. Part of this digital leap includes developing a loyalty program with Tata Neu, further enriching the customer's journey with Ginger.

With 63 Ginger hotels already operating across India and another 27 in the pipeline, IHCL's Ginger is poised for a robust expansion, promising a blend of luxury and practicality for travelers everywhere.
