Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Taj-branded hotel in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This greenfield project marks a significant addition to IHCL’s portfolio, strategically located in the heart of the city. The 150-key hotel will feature an array of luxury amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, two specialty restaurants, a J Wellness Circle spa, and over 10,000 square feet of versatile banqueting space.

Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, commented on the occasion, “Kanpur's recent inclusion among India’s smart cities, coupled with significant infrastructural advancements, is providing a fillip to the city’s hospitality landscape. This signing signifies our strategic focus on expanding our portfolio in emerging markets with strong growth potential. We are delighted to partner with JK Urbanscapes for this venture.”

JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited, part of the esteemed JK Singhania family business, is collaborating with IHCL for this project. Abhishek Singhania, Chairman of JK Urbanscapes, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner with IHCL to bring the iconic Taj brand to Kanpur. The hotel will serve as a symbol of the city’s transformation reflective of its growing commercial significance in the state.”

With the addition of this new property, IHCL will have a total of 26 hotels in Uttar Pradesh, including 13 under development. Hilton has once again been named the world’s most valuable hotel brand by Brand Finance, retaining the top spot in the Hotels 50 ranking with a brand value of $11.6 billion. This marks the ninth consecutive year that Hilton has held this prestigious title.

Hilton’s dominance is reflected in the inclusion of nine of its brands in the annual Hotels 50 report:

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of its first Dolce hotel in Türkiye, Dolce by Wyndham Çeşme Alaçatı. This addition is part of an expanded partnership with DRD Hotels and includes the simultaneous openings of La Quinta by Wyndham Çeşme and Wyndham Datça Perili Bay. This move strengthens Wyndham’s presence in the country, which now boasts nearly 120 hotels.

Dimitris Manikis, EMEA President of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. “Introducing Dolce by Wyndham in Türkiye marks a significant milestone in our growth strategy. Our recent openings in Çeşme and Datça with DRD Hotels showcase our commitment to providing high-quality and upscale hospitality throughout the Turkish Riviera and emerging urban areas. This partnership emphasizes our dedication to making hotel travel accessible and delivering exceptional guest experiences.”

Dolce by Wyndham Çeşme Alaçatı is situated three kilometers from the popular resort area of Alaçatı on the Aegean Sea. The hotel features 155 rooms and suites with stunning sea and garden views. Guests can enjoy a variety of amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a spa area, and on-site restaurants serving Mediterranean cuisine.

Its prime location near Port Alaçatı Marina makes it an ideal spot for exploring local attractions and the Aegean coastline.

Wyndham Datça Perili Bay: The first Wyndham property in the picturesque Datça peninsula, this hotel features 152 spacious rooms with breathtaking views of a private, Blue Flag-certified bay. Guests can enjoy outdoor pools, a fitness center, a spa, and a sauna, as well as two on-site restaurants serving a variety of delicious dishes.
