Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India's premier hospitality company, has unveiled plans for a new Ginger branded hotel in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. This Greenfield project will operate on a fully fitted lease and is designed to embody Ginger’s "lean luxe" philosophy, which merges vibrant, contemporary aesthetics with seamless service.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, commented on the expansion, stating, "This signing reflects our deep commitment to Varanasi, a city of immense cultural and religious importance. We are thrilled to partner with Banaras Beads Export Private Limited on this venture, which will be our fourth property in the city."
Located at the strategic Lahartara Phulwaria intersection, the new 101-key hotel is poised to attract visitors with its proximity to major tourist attractions, including the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Guests at the hotel can look forward to dining at Qmin, Ginger’s signature all-day diner that offers a mix of global and local cuisines. The hotel will also feature top-notch amenities such as a state-of-the-art fitness center and fully equipped meeting rooms.
Shivani Gupta, Managing Director of Banaras Beads Export Private Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting, "We are excited to be associated with IHCL, a leader in India’s hospitality sector. The introduction of this Ginger hotel will significantly enhance Varanasi’s hospitality landscape."
Varanasi, perched on the banks of the Ganges, holds a special place in Hinduism and is famed for its beautiful ghats and ancient temples. With this new addition, IHCL will manage 23 hotels across Uttar Pradesh under its Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger brands, with 10 more currently under development.
Banaras Beads Exports Private Limited, the partner for this project, is a notable entity in bead production and real estate, with a robust international presence and headquarters in Varanasi.
