Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has strengthened its presence in Maharashtra with the signing of a new luxury property in Alibaug. The upcoming Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa, a 156-key conversion project, is set to offer a premium retreat in one of the most sought-after coastal destinations near Mumbai and Pune.
Positioned as a perfect blend of luxury and local charm, Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant—Konkan Café, which will highlight the region’s rich coastal flavors, a bar, and a stylish lobby lounge. The resort is designed to cater to leisure and business travelers alike, offering over 8,500 square feet of banqueting space ideal for corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings.
Guests will also have access to world-class wellness and leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and Taj’s signature J Wellness Spa, ensuring a rejuvenating experience amidst Alibaug’s serene coastal landscape.
Speaking on the occasion, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL, emphasized Alibaug’s growing importance as a leisure hub. “Alibaug’s proximity to Mumbai and Pune has positioned it as a key leisure destination in Maharashtra. Its infrastructure and improved connectivity make it a preferred choice for events and getaways. Taj will further its luxury offerings on the other side of the shore in Mumbai,” she stated.
A picturesque town known for its pristine beaches, historic forts, and vibrant local culture, Alibaug has long been a favored escape from Mumbai’s fast-paced life. With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will expand its footprint in Maharashtra to 38 hotels, including 14 under development.
