The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality firm, has announced the signing of two new hotels in Mahindra World City (MWC), Chennai. These projects will include a Vivanta hotel and a Ginger hotel, further strengthening IHCL's presence in the region. Both hotels will be built on a 3-acre land parcel near Kolavai Lake, a key location within the integrated business city.
According to Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL, "IHCL has been present in Chennai for over five decades. These signings are in line with our strategy of expanding our presence into emerging micro-markets of key metros. Such markets with planned industrial, residential, and social infrastructure offer substantial opportunities for a multi-brand hospitality development. Solidifying our presence in the city, both Vivanta and Ginger are well positioned to cater to the diverse demand of this integrated business city. We are delighted to partner with Dr. G P Subash for these projects.”
The Vivanta MWC will feature 100 elegantly designed rooms and suites, a full-service restaurant, a specialty dining option with a bar, and a state-of-the-art wellness center that includes a gym and swimming pool. Additionally, the hotel will provide versatile banquet spaces to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers.
The Ginger MWC, aligning with its "lean luxe" philosophy, will have 200 modern rooms, a vibrant all-day dining space with a bar, and essential amenities such as a gym and meeting rooms. This hotel will also cater to the growing demand from corporate and leisure travelers visiting the city.
Dr. G P Subash, Founder and Director of Asbri Energy, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, "We are excited to collaborate with IHCL to bring the Vivanta and Ginger brands to Mahindra World City in Chennai. With a unique blend of amenities and services, these new hotels will provide the perfect abode for business travelers and tourists alike."
Mahindra World City spans across 1,550 acres and serves as a business hub within the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor and the Chennai-Vizag Industrial Corridor. It is a multi-sector Special Economic Zone and a significant logistics hub catering to major industrial areas.
With these additions, IHCL will have a total of 22 hotels in Tamil Nadu, including six properties currently under development.
