Tata Group’s Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) is set to accelerate its expansion with plans to add over 4,500 rooms through 30+ new hotels in FY26. This move aligns with the company’s Accelerate 2030 strategy, which aims to grow its portfolio beyond 700 hotels and double its consolidated revenue to INR 15,000 crore by the end of the decade.
Alongside this expansion, IHCL has introduced the 'Claridges Collection', a boutique luxury hotel brand that will cater to premium travelers seeking bespoke hospitality experiences. The brand will initially launch with Claridges New Delhi, Connemara Chennai, and Blue Diamond Pune, with a vision to expand to 20+ properties by 2030.
Speaking on the company’s aggressive expansion, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO of IHCL, stated:
"We opened 25 hotels this year, and in the next financial year, we will surpass 30. We are now opening between 2.5 to 3 hotels a month, with 2.5 being the minimum."
Each new property will add an average of 150 rooms, bringing the total number of new rooms in FY26 to around 4,500.
IHCL’s Claridges Collection is being introduced through a partnership with Claridges Hotels and will focus on providing exclusive, high-end experiences in culturally significant locations. Around 80% of the Claridges Collection portfolio will be existing properties, while a select few will be new builds.
Suresh Nanda, Chairman of Claridges Hotels, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating:
"This partnership marks a significant milestone in expanding the Claridges legacy of luxury and excellence across India."
With the Claridges brand already registered in Nepal and Sri Lanka, IHCL is also considering international expansion within key markets in the Indian subcontinent.
As part of its Accelerate 2030 vision, IHCL is redefining luxury and hospitality through strategic partnerships, aggressive expansion, and a strong focus on premium guest experiences. With the Claridges Collection set to position itself in India’s key gateway cities, the group is strengthening its presence in the luxury boutique segment, further cementing its leadership in the Indian hospitality industry.
