Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new resort in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. This brownfield project, to be branded as Gateway Gwalior, will redefine luxury and hospitality in the region.
Set across a sprawling 30.8-acre property, the Gateway Gwalior will feature 186 luxurious accommodations. Guests can indulge in a variety of culinary delights with:
An all-day diner.
Specialty restaurants.
A sophisticated bar.
State-of-the-art facilities such as a gym, two swimming pools, a spa, and an associated golf course further elevate the guest experience.
The resort offers extensive banqueting facilities with two outdoor spaces capable of accommodating up to 10,000 guests and two indoor halls spanning a total area of 1,100 square meters, making it ideal for weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate and Development at IHCL, expressed her enthusiasm, saying: "Gwalior, with its rich heritage and growing infrastructure, is emerging as a key destination in central India. This signing reflects our strategy of expanding in key cultural and economic centres across the country. We are delighted to partner with Imperial Hospitality for this project."
Rohit Wadhwa and Anshuman Mishra, directors of Imperial Hospitality, shared their vision in a joint statement: "We are delighted to partner with IHCL to bring the Gateway brand to Gwalior. This collaboration will set a new benchmark for hospitality in the region, creating a destination for weddings, events, and extended stays."
Steeped in history and vibrant culture, Gwalior is recognized as the UNESCO ‘City of Music’ and a Smart Cities Mission participant. Known for its architectural marvels and rich heritage, the city provides a fitting backdrop for Gateway Gwalior.
With this addition, IHCL strengthens its presence in Madhya Pradesh with 15 hotels, including six under development. This move aligns with its strategy of expanding in key cultural and economic hubs across India.
Led by directors Rohit Wadhwa and Anshuman Mishra, Imperial Hospitality brings over three decades of expertise in real estate and hospitality. Wadhwa’s experience spans multi-residential developments, while Mishra’s background in hospitality adds strategic depth to the collaboration.
The Gateway Gwalior is poised to become a landmark destination in central India, offering unmatched luxury and versatile event spaces amidst a culturally rich setting.
