The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is further expanding its luxury footprint with the signing of a new Taj-branded hotel in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, in partnership with Arnaytive Resorts. This 160-key greenfield project, Taj Chikkamagaluru, is set amidst picturesque coffee estates and will offer guests panoramic views of the Mullayanagiri Peak, Karnataka's highest point. IHCL's strategy behind this new project is to highlight India's lesser-known leisure destinations, bringing them to the global stage. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, stated, "We are delighted to partner with Arnaytive Resorts in putting Chikkamagaluru on the global tourism map." Spread over 25 acres, Taj Chikkamagaluru will feature luxurious amenities such as an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, two swimming pools, a bar, a poolside bar, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and the J Wellness Circle spa. The hotel will also cater to families with a kids’ club and a library. For business travelers, the property offers over 5,000 square feet of banqueting facilities, meeting rooms, and a pre-function area, making it ideal for both leisure and corporate guests. Arnaytive Resorts co-founder, VP Kiran, highlighted the appeal of Chikkamagaluru, saying, "This market has untapped potential and will serve as a picturesque getaway, enhanced by Taj’s signature services." With the addition of Taj Chikkamagaluru, IHCL now has 24 hotels across Karnataka, with nine more under development. IHCL, which was founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1903, continues to expand globally, with a portfolio of 340 hotels and 112 under development.
