Dusit International, a leading hotel and property development company based in Thailand, is set to expand its footprint in the Philippines by managing two new hotels under its Dusit Princess brand in Northern Mindanao. This development comes through a partnership with IDC Prime, a subsidiary of Italpinas Development Corp, known for its sustainable property designs in emerging cities.
The two properties, Dusit Princess Moena and Dusit Princess Firenze, will showcase a harmonious blend of sustainability, innovation, and high-quality hospitality.
Situated in the serene mountains of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Dusit Princess Moena will be part of the Moena Mountain Estate, a mixed-use development emphasizing eco-friendly practices. Slated to open in late 2029, this 184-key hotel will feature premium facilities such as an outdoor pool, a yoga room, a fully equipped gym, and versatile multipurpose spaces.
The location, often referred to as the "Baguio of Mindanao," already attracts nature enthusiasts with its cool climate and breathtaking scenery. By offering contemporary accommodation and comprehensive amenities, Dusit Princess Moena aims to enhance the region’s appeal, complementing local attractions like Dahilayan Adventure Park and Del Monte Pineapple plantations.
Further north, Dusit Princess Firenze will rise as part of IDC's Firenze Green Tower project in Cagayan de Oro’s bustling Limketkai area. This 14-storey mixed-use development will combine commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces, with Dusit managing 180 hotel rooms on the upper floors.
Designed to provide comfort and convenience, the hotel will feature a spa, gym, swimming pool, and multipurpose spaces, catering to both business and leisure travelers. Its strategic location, near Cagayan de Oro’s commercial districts, positions it as a key destination in the "Adventure Capital of the Philippines."
Both projects are aligned with Dusit’s and IDC Prime’s shared commitment to sustainability. Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer of Dusit International, remarked, "With IDC Prime's dedication to sustainability and innovation, we are excited to bring our distinctive Thai-inspired gracious hospitality to Mindanao, delivering meaningful experiences while creating lasting value for the community."
Arch. Romolo Nati, CEO and Chairman of IDC Prime, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing how these hotels will elevate their developments while highlighting the untapped potential of Northern Mindanao.
These projects add to Dusit International's robust portfolio, which includes over 300 properties operating across 19 countries. In the Philippines, Dusit currently operates several hotels, including Dusit Thani Manila and dusitD2 Davao, further cementing its position as a leading player in the hospitality sector.
By combining sustainable practices, architectural innovation, and gracious hospitality, Dusit Princess Moena and Dusit Princess Firenze are poised to become iconic destinations in the region, offering guests unforgettable experiences amidst the natural and urban landscapes of Northern Mindanao.

On National Startup Day 2025, Anish Varshnei, Co-Founder of Latambarcem Brewers, reflects on his unique journey from the bustling kitchens of the Culinary Institute of America to the bubbling fermentation vats of a brewery in Goa.
"Once a chef with a discerning palate and a flair for the dramatic, I traded in my knives for hops and barley," says Varshnei, whose culinary expertise now fuels his passion for crafting exceptional beers under the brands Borécha and Maka Di.
Born and raised in Goa, Anish began his culinary journey at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, where his skills were honed to perfection. However, his passion for exploring uncharted territories in the food and beverage space led him to the art of brewing. At just 29, Anish embraced the challenge of fermentation, blending the precision and creativity from his culinary background to revolutionize craft beer in India.
Anish’s brewing expertise has earned him numerous accolades, including a bronze award for Maka Di Belgian Tripel and two Witbier Chairman's Selection awards for Maka Di Belgian Blanche at the Asia Beer Championship. His hands-on approach to production ensures that his beers consistently deliver quality, affordability, and enjoyment to consumers.
"As a chef and now a brewer, I’ve always believed that every creation—whether a dish or a beer—must tell a story. My proudest moments come from seeing our customers’ satisfaction, reflecting the dedication and effort our team puts into every product," he shares.
In addition to co-founding Latambarcem Brewers, Anish serves as Chief Operating Officer and holds directorship roles at multiple companies, showcasing his ability to blend business acumen with creative ingenuity.
On this National Startup Day, Anish Varshnei’s story serves as an inspiration to entrepreneurs across the nation, demonstrating how a passion for quality, innovation, and craftsmanship can pave the way to success in unexpected industries.
