IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Sakthi Elegant Towers India Pvt Ltd to develop Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur, scheduled to open in 2026. With 200 keys, this new addition will expand IHG’s footprint in South India, catering to both business and leisure travelers in the region.
The hotel will be strategically located just a short drive from Chennai International Airport in the Vandalur area, placing it close to the city's key industrial centers, home to many global corporations. This location makes the hotel ideal for both domestic and international travelers, providing convenient access to major business hubs and top leisure attractions.
The hotel will feature the Open Lobby hallmark, a versatile, design-led space that offers guests the flexibility to connect, relax, and work in a way that suits their needs. This innovative feature is a part of the Holiday Inn brand's ongoing evolution, which has earned it a place among the world’s most loved and recognized hotel brands.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director of South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented on the signing: “We are delighted to welcome Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur, a strategic addition to our growing portfolio in South India. Chennai is experiencing robust economic growth, and it has become a key destination for both domestic and international travelers seeking a mix of business and leisure experiences.” He further noted that this will be the fifth IHG hotel and third Holiday Inn in Chennai, highlighting the brand’s increasing presence in the city.
P Rajendran of Sakthi Elegant Towers India Pvt Ltd shared, “We're excited to partner with IHG to bring Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur to life. This collaboration allows us to tap into IHG's global expertise, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming guest experience that sets new standards for hospitality in Chennai.”
Currently, IHG operates 46 hotels across India in six brands, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. With an additional 58 hotels in the pipeline, IHG is set to continue its expansion in India over the next few years, strengthening its presence in key markets across the country.
Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur promises to bring a blend of business convenience and leisure comfort, marking a new chapter in Chennai’s hospitality scene.
