Hyderabad witnessed the launch of Dr. Suborno Bose’s latest book, Harmonizing Human Touch & AI in Tourism and Hospitality. As Chairman of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) and a visionary in hospitality education, Dr. Bose emphasizes AI’s role in enhancing, rather than replacing, the human touch in the industry.
The book takes a unique A-to-Z approach, illustrating AI’s impact on predictive maintenance, sentiment analysis, and sustainability initiatives. “AI is not artificial—it is ‘Advanced Intelligence’ that complements human-centric hospitality,” said Dr. Bose at the event.
In a groundbreaking announcement, Dr. Bose revealed NamAIste IIHM HospitalityGPT, the world’s first generative AI dedicated to the hospitality industry. Currently in alpha testing, it is set for an official launch by Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on April 24, International Hospitality Day. Unlike general AI models, this GPT will cater specifically to hospitality professionals worldwide, offering real-time insights and best practices.
A roundtable on AI’s role in tourism featured industry experts, including Rupa Sree Bhuptapty from Google India, Chef Dharmender Lamba, and NSN Mohan from SKAL. Panelists emphasized AI’s potential to drive productivity, profitability, and sustainability without displacing jobs.
The event was attended by key industry figures, including DGP Abhilasha Bisht, Consul General Amita Desai, Gareth Owen from the British High Commission, and senior executives from Taj, Hyatt, and Novotel. Under Dr. Bose’s leadership, IIHM continues to pioneer AI-driven advancements, reinforcing India’s position in global hospitality innovation.
