The Indian School of Hospitality (ISH), in collaboration with Sommet Education and Accor, has launched a groundbreaking initiative called the Indian Talent Development Initiative. This innovative partnership, unveiled at the 19th Hotel Investment Conference in Bengaluru (HICSA 2024), aims to provide growth opportunities for Indian youth in the thriving hospitality sector.
The three-year pact, spearheaded by the Sommet Education Foundation with Accor as its primary supporter, seeks to nurture the skills of economically disadvantaged individuals and empower them to pursue careers in hospitality. A total of 16 meritorious candidates from underprivileged backgrounds will benefit from this initiative, receiving funding to enroll in ISH's Intensive Culinary Arts Programme and Intensive Pastry and Bakery Programme.
Kunal Vasudeva, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Indian School of Hospitality, emphasised the transformative potential of the Indian Talent Development Initiative, stating ISH's commitment to providing top-tier training and exceptional learning experiences to aspiring talents in hospitality.
Accor's SVP Diversity, Inclusion & Social Care, Anne-Sophie Beraud, highlighted the hospitality group's dedication to investing in the next generation of talent, ensuring opportunities for all individuals to reach their full potential. The partnership with Sommet Education Foundation reflects Accor's commitment to providing world-class education and training to aspiring youth in India.
Anouck Weiss, Vice-President Executive of Sommet Education Foundation, underscored the organisation's belief in education as a catalyst for positive change and success. Through scholarships and employment opportunities, the Indian Talent Development Initiative aims to empower individuals with the necessary skills and resources to become future leaders in the hospitality industry.
ISH will play a crucial role in the success of this initiative, offering top-notch training and immersive learning experiences through its advanced facilities and expert faculty. The program also includes a three-month practical experience at Accor and assured employability post-completion, promising to expedite culinary careers for the beneficiaries.
Despite the rapid growth of the Indian hospitality industry, youth unemployment remains a significant challenge. The Indian Talent Development Initiative represents a collaborative effort to stimulate sustainable growth, bridge employment gaps, and enable individuals from less privileged backgrounds to secure meaningful careers in hospitality.
The launch of this initiative reflects the collective commitment of Sommet Education, ISH, and Accor to talent development, social equality, and economic enhancement in India. By paving new paths for advancement and setting higher benchmarks in the hospitality sector, the partners aim to create a brighter future for aspiring individuals in India.
