Indian travellers can now use their preferred UPI apps to book and pay online for attractions and experiences at Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), including Universal Studios Singapore. The new payment option follows a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and Singapore-based payment institution FOMO Pay.
The partnership was announced at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai on 9 September. It will also support the gradual expansion of UPI acceptance across participating merchants in FOMO Pay’s network, with Resorts World Sentosa among the first merchants to go live.
Indian visitors can use UPI through the RWS official website to book attractions and other experiences before travelling to Singapore. The development comes as Singapore continues to attract Indian visitors, with 1.2 million Indian visitors recorded in 2025.
Resorts World Sentosa is home to major attractions including Universal Studios Singapore, the Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark, along with hotels, dining, retail and entertainment experiences. The availability of UPI is expected to make the booking process more convenient for Indian travellers while also giving Singapore merchants access to India’s large digital consumer base.
“NIPL is committed to expanding UPI’s acceptance by building seamless, interoperable real-time payment ecosystems with leading financial institutions worldwide. Our partnership with FOMO Pay marks a significant milestone in this journey. With UPI now accepted on the Resorts World Sentosa website, Indian visitors can conveniently book and pay online using their preferred UPI apps when planning their visit to one of Singapore's most popular tourist destinations. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to making cross-border payments simpler, faster, and more accessible,” said Ritesh Shukla, managing director and CEO of NPCI International.
The partnership is also expected to support faster payments, better cash-flow management for merchants and reduced dependence on physical currency.
“India is one of Singapore's most important and fastest-growing visitor markets, and Indian consumers are among the most digitally savvy in the world. At FOMO Pay, we work closely with real-time national payment systems like UPI to create conditions for more trusted flows between Indian consumers and Singapore businesses. By enabling merchants like Resorts World Sentosa to accept UPI payments online, we are helping bridge the gap between how Indian consumers transact at home and how they experience Singapore,” said Louis Liu, founder and CEO of FOMO Pay.
For Resorts World Sentosa, the move strengthens its focus on the Indian travel market.
“India is one of Resorts World Sentosa’s largest and fastest-growing visitor markets, with Indian travellers making up a significant share of guests who visit our destination for memorable experiences across our suite of hotels and attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and the Singapore Oceanarium. By enabling UPI payments on our website, we are making it easier for Indian travellers to discover, plan and book their experiences with us before they arrive, creating a more seamless journey from inspiration to visit,” said Jenny Wang, senior vice-president for resort sales and marketing at Resorts World Sentosa.
The partnership further expands UPI’s international acceptance, allowing Indian travellers to use a familiar digital payment method while planning experiences overseas.
