India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), under the Ministry of Tourism, has officially welcomed Ms. Mugdha Sinha, IAS (1999 batch, Rajasthan cadre) as its new Managing Director. A seasoned bureaucrat with the rank of Additional Secretary, Ms. Sinha is known for her visionary leadership and a rich portfolio of governance and policy expertise.

Bringing over two decades of administrative experience to the role, Ms. Sinha previously served as Director General of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism, where she played a crucial role in shaping national policies with a focus on innovation and big data integration. Her tenure as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture further strengthened her profile, as she led the GLAM division and championed initiatives promoting India's cultural heritage in tandem with tourism development.

Now at the helm of ITDC, Ms. Sinha will oversee multiple verticals including The Ashok Group of Hotels, Ashok Events, Ashok Travels & Tours, AIH&TM, Ashok International Trade (Duty-Free), Catering Units, and Ashok Consultancy & Engineering Services.

“It is a privilege to join ITDC. My focus will be on modernising operations, enhancing the tourism and hospitality experience, and building a globally competitive brand rooted in India’s rich cultural heritage,” said Ms. Sinha.

With this strategic appointment, ITDC is poised to enter a dynamic new chapter—fostering growth, innovation, and a stronger positioning in both national and international tourism landscapes.
