JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru is excited to announce the appointment of Baranidharan Thirunavukkarasu as the new executive pastry chef. With a remarkable 16 years of culinary expertise, Thirunavukkarasu will be leading the patisserie department at the hotel.
Known for his passion, creativity, and collaborative spirit, Thirunavukkarasu is a master in crafting exquisite desserts for various dining occasions, including restaurants, events, and fine dining experiences. His extensive skills encompass the art of creating artisan bread, pastries, chocolates, wedding cakes, themed desserts, and a wide range of confections. With a strong command of advanced pastry techniques, adherence to food safety standards, and a keen eye for pastry design, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his role.
Thirunavukkarasu's exceptional talent has been recognized through several prestigious awards and accolades. He was honoured with the Precious Cayman Stingray Tourism Awards by the Cayman Islands Tourism Association and received the Star of the Sugar Award at the International Sugar Contest in Italy. He also achieved a Gold Medal for his dessert at the CHTA Taste of the Caribbean event in the Cayman Islands in 2019. Notably, he garnered multiple gold medals for Dessert and Showpieces for four consecutive years (2013-2017) from the Cayman Culinary Society.

DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Airport has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Tushar Das as executive chef and Ranjeet Singh as food & beverage manager. These additions reflect the hotel’s focus on enhancing its culinary experiences and overall F&B offerings at its Bengaluru property.
Tushar Das brings over 15 years of experience across leading five-star hotels in India and the Middle East. In his new role, he will lead the hotel’s culinary direction, overseeing menu development, kitchen operations, and quality across restaurants and banquet spaces.
He has previously worked with brands like Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Radisson, Avasa Hotel, The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, JW Marriott Jaipur, and Vivanta by Taj. Known for his hands-on approach, he specialises in Western and Italian cuisine and has also been part of multiple hotel pre-openings.
“I am delighted to join DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Airport and look forward to creating distinctive culinary experiences that combine innovation, quality, and memorable dining moments for our guests,” said Das.
Ranjeet Singh joins with over 13 years of experience in food and beverage operations, including strong exposure to bar and restaurant management. He will oversee all F&B operations at the hotel, focusing on beverage innovation, menu planning, and service excellence.
Before this role, he was associated with Marriott International at Moxy Bengaluru Airport and has also worked with Sheraton Grand Hotel Whitefield. His international experience includes time with Shangri-La Group in Dubai, where he managed premium lounges and restaurant concepts.

Hilton Hyderabad Genome Valley Resort & Spa has appointed Abhishek Bahadur as its commercial director, strengthening its leadership team as the resort continues to build its presence as a leading destination in South India.
With over 17 years of experience across some of India’s well-known hospitality brands, Bahadur brings strong expertise in commercial strategy, market expansion, and stakeholder relationships. In his new role, he will oversee sales, marketing, and revenue management, with a focus on driving growth across key segments such as leisure, weddings, and MICE.
Bahadur joins from Marriott International, where he served as director of sales & marketing and led several multi-channel initiatives that strengthened brand positioning across both retail and MICE segments. His career also includes roles with leading brands like JW Marriott, The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts, The Oberoi, Trident Gurgaon, The Claridges New Delhi, and ITC Hotels.
He has been closely associated with the resort since its pre-opening phase, where he played a key role in shaping its commercial direction. From building the go-to-market strategy to setting up pricing frameworks and strengthening distribution channels, his early contributions have helped lay a strong foundation for the resort’s growth.
His efforts have also supported the development of key business segments, particularly weddings and MICE, while building a strong digital presence and market visibility for the property. Going forward, he will continue to focus on expanding partnerships and aligning commercial strategies with the resort’s long-term vision.

Bharti family office’s hospitality and dining arm has announced the appointment of Rohan Pewekar as its Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he will lead the strategy and overall operations of the group’s restaurant business, which includes well-known global brands such as PizzaExpress, Chili’s, P.F. Chang’s, and Olive Garden.
Rohan will focus on strengthening the presence of these brands in India, driving expansion, improving guest experience, and building strong teams to support the next stage of growth.
He brings close to two decades of experience across strategy, finance, and operations in consumer-focused businesses. Most recently, he served as Managing Director, Pizza Hut – Indian Subcontinent at Yum! Brands, where he led operations and expansion across the region. During his time there, he also worked as Chief Strategy and Finance Officer for Pizza Hut India, contributing to business growth, improving performance, and expanding new channels.
Earlier in his career, Rohan worked with Samsung Electronics and Accenture, gaining experience in strategy, transformation, and operations.
He has completed his management education from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, adding a strong academic base to his industry experience.
