JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar has announced the appointment of Surat Chand as its new Executive Housekeeper, further strengthening the hotel’s senior leadership team. With close to two decades of experience across India’s leading luxury hotels, Surat brings strong operational knowledge, hands-on leadership, and a sharp focus on guest comfort and cleanliness.
Surat joins JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar from The Westin Goa, where he served as Executive Housekeeper and led housekeeping operations with an emphasis on service efficiency, team development, and operational excellence. Prior to this, he spent over nine years at The St. Regis Mumbai, progressing through roles including Housekeeping Executive, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, and Manager Housekeeping. His tenure there helped build deep expertise in managing large teams and delivering consistent luxury service in high-volume environments.
Earlier in his career, Surat worked with reputed hospitality brands such as Grand Hyatt Mumbai, InterContinental, and ITC Grand Maratha. These roles provided him with a strong foundation in on-ground operations and inter-departmental coordination within premium hotel environments.
Reflecting on his approach to hospitality, Surat said, “Excellence in housekeeping comes from attention to every detail and empowering the team to deliver seamless service. At JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, my focus will be on creating guest experiences defined by comfort, cleanliness, and consistency.”
A graduate of the Metropolitan Institute of Hotel Management, Surat brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in luxury hospitality. Known for his meticulous eye for detail and people-first leadership style, he is recognised for building motivated teams while maintaining high service standards.
In his new role, Surat will oversee all areas of the Housekeeping Department at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, with a focus on service consistency, brand standards, guestroom quality, and training-driven excellence. His appointment reinforces the hotel’s continued commitment to delivering elevated and dependable guest experiences.
