Kempinski Hotels, Europe's oldest luxury hotel group, is excited to announce the appointment of Barbara Muckermann as their new Chief Executive Officer. With an impressive background in the luxury travel industry, Muckermann brings over 25 years of experience to this prestigious role. She previously led Silversea Cruises, part of Royal Caribbean Group, which is renowned as the world's largest ultra-luxury and expedition cruise line.
Muckermann joins Kempinski at a pivotal time. The iconic hospitality brand, with its 127-year tradition of excellence, is preparing for significant global expansion. Currently operating 82 hotels in 36 countries, Kempinski aims to add 34 more properties to its portfolio in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa over the next few years. This strategic growth is intended to further cement Kempinski's reputation for providing unparalleled luxury and exceptional service.

Muckermann is the first woman to lead Kempinski Hotels in its 127-year history. Throughout her career, Muckermann has significantly enhanced sales and profitability while upgrading customer experiences for global luxury brands such as Loro Piana, MSC Cruises, and NCL. Her extensive international experience, having lived in Italy, France, and the USA, and her proficiency in five languages, underscore her global perspective and capability. Additionally, she holds a Doctorate in Political Sciences and Economics and an MBA from both Columbia and London Business School.
Kempinski Hotels is known for its unique and legendary properties, each reflecting the cultural traditions of their locations while maintaining the high standards expected of the brand. The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi has announced a series of key leadership promotions, reinforcing its core teams across sales, marketing, and technology. These moves underscore the hotel’s commitment to nurturing talent and driving strategic growth.
Tarun Gupta has been elevated to Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing, overseeing both The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi and The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences. Bringing deep market insight and extensive experience with global hospitality brands, Tarun will focus on driving revenue, expanding segments, and positioning both hotels as top choices for luxury and convention travellers. “This is an exciting and humbling responsibility — leading two iconic and high-performing hotels. With the continued guidance of our leadership teams, I’m confident we will take both Ambience flagship hotels to even greater heights,” he shared.
Meanwhile, Priti Prava Chakraborty has been promoted to Director of Marketing at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi. Known for her expertise in integrated marketing communications and digital strategy, Priti has significantly boosted the hotel’s market presence and brand recall. In her expanded role, she will continue to drive strategic outreach, digital innovation, and campaigns tailored to evolving luxury consumer trends.
In a key technology move, Ajay Mehra has been appointed Associate Director – Information Technology. Having been an integral part of several tech-driven initiatives at the property, Ajay will now lead efforts to streamline IT operations, advance digital integration, and enhance the hotel’s guest-centric technology ecosystem.

Wyndham Garden Jim Corbett, Chhoi has announced the appointment of Vikkas Sharma as the hotel’s new general manager. In this role, Sharma will oversee overall hotel operations, focus on maximising revenue potential, enhance guest experiences, and foster a positive work environment for team members.
Given Jim Corbett’s popularity as a tourist destination famed for its tiger reserve, Sharma will also play a crucial role in promoting Wyndham Garden across key tourism markets.
Prior to joining Wyndham Garden, Sharma served as general manager at Lemon Tree Premier, Jim Corbett, where he managed hotel operations, sales and marketing, and staff development.

His rich industry experience and deep understanding of hospitality operations are expected to further strengthen Wyndham Garden Jim Corbett’s position as a preferred choice for travellers visiting this scenic wildlife haven.
